EEK! EEK! YATTA! YATTA! EEK! EEK!

Tommy Tanaka dove under his desk as the Disco Dwarves from Dimension X teleported with a "pop" into the Homeroom. Zap rays sizzled overhead, vaporizing his English is Fun textbook and scorching one of the slower freshmen nearby. There was a sound like tearing rubber as, in the corner, Vilar Monstered Out to his full thirteen feet-two and began throwing desks around. Cano started to shapechange, but a stray bolt from a Boy / Girl gun turned into a cute blond Cannette.

Rami cringed behind her desk, her saucer-sized eyes wide with mindless terror, (actually, everything about Rami was mindless), the tip of her long fluffy tail stuffed in her mouth. "What do we do now?" she wailed at Tommy. "No problem," said Kev, pulling the pin on his Weird Science 101 project and lofting it casually toward the Dwarves. There was a thunderous paisley explosion and the room was suddenly filled with hot buttered popcorn....

Welcome to the world of TEENAGERS FROM OUTER SPACE: the amazingly weird role-playing game that lets you become a character in your very own (or even somebody else's) Japanese Animation Comedy Show! Complete with everything you'll need to create Silly Superpowers, Gonzo Gadgets, Bikini Battlesuits, Mecha Mayhem, Magical Girlfriends and the ever popular sex-changing Boy / Girl Gun, this new edition of the original award-winning game is guaranteed to change the way you look at anime (and roleplaying) forever!

The differences are fairly minor. Mostly some new content.

It allows you to make alien characters of three varieties: near humans, not very near humans, and real wierdies. It doesn't have a species generator.

There's a level of randomness in character generation but there's no specific "random alien maker", no.

Is this a good game to try to solo play?

It isn't designed for solo play but the rules are fairly simple so it might be adapted easily.

My only issue with this version is that it's the re-issue, and not the first edition of the game, with, frankly, less noisy graphics. But that's a minor quibble. The game itself is one of the best systems ever, and lends itself to comedy in any genre.

It's good to have an update, but the size is a 150 MB .pdf for about 130 pages. That size is starting to strain my tablet, and turning pages is a chore. You may want to offer two sizes: one for archiving and printing hardcopies, and one for practical reading use.

Yowza. Even an archive-quality file would be much, much smaller than that if done correctly. Thanks for the warning; I'll wait for an update.

Try a reader that precaches the entire book before displaying it. Xodo Reader works well for me and can handle any PDF I toss at it.

So, apparently I can't write a review on this product, despite having it in my Library from a Bundle of Holding. (That's really dumb.) I just wanted to note that the new scan that was posted of this book on July 5th 2018 is _REALLY_ well done, and thank R. Talisorian for it! I'd buy a lot more of your PDFs if they continue to be updated to be as good as this one!

R. Talsorian has made updates on many of their products; they must have found better scanning and bookmarking tricks. We applaud their efforts. This TFOS update is 150 MB which is way too big for reading with Adobe Reader on my tablet. The pages don't turn so much as gradually settle like a garbage bagful of leaves.

Really? I can load it into Adobe Reader, iBooks, and Chunky (a CBR/CBZ reading app that also can handle PDFs), and it loads with no problems. Image scans of older titles are usually on the heavy side of PDF sizes. I'd rather have a higher quality, but larger file than a smaller, lesser-quality one. (JPEG artifacting can get really bad on over-optimized files, especially in blocks of text.)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
