ADD TO WISHLIST >

The Midgard Bestiary for the Pathfinder RPG is here, with more than 100 monsters and foes drawn from award-winning adventures and sourcebooks!

Between its covers lurk some of the greatest monsters that Kobold Press has unleashed on players over the last five years - ready to deploy in your Pathfinder RPG adventures. All are core fantasy creatures designed for easy adaptation to a homebrew campaign or another published setting.

You'll find lots of old favorites here along with brand-new monsters: foes and allies from the Free City of Zobeck, the empire of the ghouls, the courts of the shadow and river fey, the Old Margreve forest, and the Ironcrags.

Pathfinder RPG players now have a toychest that includes the mithral dragon, steam golem, ghost knight, imperial ghast, bonepowder ghoul, roachling, plus new demons, devils, and more, all fully illustrated and heavily playtested!

110 pages, with full tables and appendixes by terrain, CR, and more. By monster-master and Paizo developer Adam Daigle.

One of the best campaign setting. I really loved it. Sadly, KP opted to publish updated version for 5E rather than PF2E. Since 4E, I just do not support WotC products on any level even 3rd Party Creators as you still need main books. I would rather su [...]

The Midgard Bestiary is a monster compilation with a difference. Born of Open Design's organic development process, it draws upon monsters featured in Kobold Quarterly, the website and already-published materials as well as the traditional folklore tha [...]

Initially I was attracted to this product as I had the campaign setting Midgard and wanted more. I wanted monsters for a campaign I was setting up for a number of friends. I was not disappointed with Midgard Bestiary. There are 89 monsters,75% of which [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
