It had been a long journey out to Sterling Steed Farm and Jacob was tired. He was ready to put this case to bed and only had a few loose ends left to tie up. Pulling up to the front of the farm, Jacob peered through the large iron gate and onto the grounds beyond.
Jacob pushed the button on the small box mounted on a small black pole by the gate and waited. In the distance, a red pickup truck was parked in front of the picturesque farm house. Pulling out a small set of binoculars, Jacob stared through the gate and down the gravel driveway.
He saw her lips move before the screams reached his ears. A man dressed in a long leather duster, white t-shirt and jeans carried a woman over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes. Two men followed close behind...
