Description:

Ascendancy - Rogue Marshal

Tool up, adept!

You are at the vanguard of a new age, an age of metal and machines, of engines and augmentation.

However, not everyone welcomes your mechanised inventiveness; great change brings great fear and, perhaps, persecution.

Steam and Steel is a source book for FateStorm™ Ascendancy–Rogue Marshal. It provides detailed information about technologies, including steam and clockwork, tools and magical machines as well as skills not covered in the core rule book, such as mechanartis, which is the merging of technology and magic.

A supplementary book for the adept vocation, Steam and Steel outlines new vocational paths for the adept to follow, new assets to covet and advanced weaves that the versatile adept can make good use of. The file is a print ready, optimised, PDF; with page previews, bookmarks, hyperlinked contents list and a glossary.

Here’s what you get.

  • Details of past and present technological advances

  • Special benefits from adept only organisations

  • The Technoshaman in greater detail

  • Five new prowess

  • Three new talents

  • New allies, possessions and personalities perfect for the old hand or newbie adept

  • Four new adept vocations

  • New equipment and weapons

  • Making cogmetich, biometich and asseametich machines

  • How to design and build cogolems and WarGears

  • Seven new assea weaves tailored to the versatile adept

  • Rules for WarGear piloting and combat

  • Four WarGear profiles from the Ministry of Arms ‘Ironjaws’ special forces.

ASCENDANCY - Rogue Marshal, draws the players into a world of political intrigue and power plays; psychotic serial killers and obsessed fetish gangs; deranged cults that call forth eldritch nightmares; and mad inventors who create mechanical and chemical abominations. All amid the background of Ashendrya — The Endless City.

Ashendrya is a city so vast that normal citizens are called upon to act as its wardens in time of need; and there is always a need. While industrial cabals wage secret wars that threaten to engulf whole regions of the city, malign cults pray to Shiok, the mad god, and call his influence into the very heart of Ashendrya.

In Ashendrya, celebrity, fame and fashion are proof of success, poisoning the weak of mind to fall into madness; the poor are left to rot in the low regions, without light or hope, or join the nation's fighting forces and march to war.

Fate favours the brave

From now on it's not up to the GM or the dice to prove a character's worth - it's up to you.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
