Shadowrun: The Land of Promise

Tír Tairngire Wants You!

Tír Tairngire has changed. The predominantly elven nation has an ork at its head, and the residents have become more welcoming to outsiders, in the sense that they don’t always immediately threaten to shoot them when they come in sight.

There is enough wealth and power in Tír Tairngire to make even the slightest crack in the nation’s façade tempting. Every shadowrunner knows that elves, especially powerful elves, do not rank high on the trustworthiness scale, but that doesn’t have to be a deal breaker.

Anticipating lies and betrayals from the people runners work with is part of the game. Runners should just be sure to gather critical information about getting in to the Tír, the major cities, and the dominant personalities before they go in, since forewarned is forearmed.

The Land of Promise is the resource runners need to get caught up on the current status of Tír Tairngire and its leaders. With adventure seeds, profiles of notable personalities, and essential demographic information, this is a critical resource for anyone living in or near the elven nation’s shadows.

The Land of Promise is for use with Shadowrun, Twentieth Anniversary Edition.

Land of Promise, updating information on the elven nation of Tir Tairngire to the current era of Shadowrun. Most of the product is in setting discussion of the Tir and its current situation, heavy on politics and attitudes light on actual data, the origi [...]

Big disappointment, just a bunch of runners who are arguing about the princes, not even a single map. Best of all was the beginning story to get a feeling of the tir, but nonetheless, didn't take anything out of it. I was to tired to go on reading at [...]

I loved the old Tir Taingire sourcebook and because of comparing this product with the old book is why I was disappointed here. It's not really a fair comparison, because this is one of the virtual mini-books that Catalyst is releasing but regardless, [...]

‘Land of Promise’ is a mixed bag of goodies which essentially updates the 2e Tir Tairngire sourcebook. In fact, I’d highly recommend a purchase of that book to go with this one in order to get the best value. This book is a succinct 24 pages, [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
