Description:
I grew up watching Robotech in all of its early anime, poor quality, repetative combat sequence glory. I could not get enough of the veritechs and destroids. I loved them. I would race home from the bus stop so that I would not miss an episode. I was enamored with it and the feeling has never really left me as I grew up. Somewhere deep inside is the little kid who wanted to fly veritechs and fight the Zendraedi hordes.
Well not much has changed. Only now I do it on the tabletop instead of in my head. I put together some designs for generic multi-mode fighters for use with Dirtside II and Stargrunt. I also included some rules floating around the GZG mailing list on using multi-mode fighters in Full Thrust.
I tried to be as accurate to the original designs as I could within the design constraints of the Dirtside II vehicle system. The Multi-mode Fighters, because of their flexibility, are costed different than any other vehicle. I costed them 50% higher than their highest costed mode to balance out their incredible flexibility on the battlefield. Each mode has its strengths and weaknesses and even slightly different weapon configurations.
I also went ahead and put together some designs for their early opponents, The Zendraedi, renamed here Zedraadi for campaign purposes. I have also tried to stay true to the original designs as much as possible here as well.
