Just outside the sleepy coastal village of Highcliffe, an abandoned and dilapidated house, once the home of a reclusive alchemist, stands atop a sea cliff. Locals say it's haunted: They've seen mysterious lights and ghostly sounds coming from the house, and some who have ventured inside have vanished, never to be seen again. However, rumors continue to circulate that the house also hold untold riches, including a philosopher's stone.
Will a brave band of adventures find fame and fortune, or will they too fall victim to the house's sinister secret?
The Haunting of Highcliffe is an adventure front for the Dungeon World RPG. It presents the skeleton of a complete adventure, based on a classic old-school module from the 1980s. With it and a minimal amount of prep work, a GM has enough material for several sessions of play, as well as the set-up for a longer campaign arc.
