Usherwood Publishing has spared all expenses to present to you this line of ‘classic’ First Edition and OSRICTM compatible fantasy-based roleplaying game adventure modules. We haven’t even bothered to type-set the manuscript, because really, why bother? These adventures may not be good for your matured sense of high-adventure, but they should be good for a laugh or two.

Keep on the Borderlands: The Expansion returns your players to the setting of one of the most notorious modules released by TSR, The Keep on the Borderlands. This adventure provides additional overland encounters, as well as additional Caves of Chaos for your players to explore.

Return with us to the good ‘ol days when ’plot’ was just a four-letter word that stood between you and the treasure.

Includes forms-activated GM Adventure Log (requires Adobe Reader 8.0 or later).

Got your own High Adventure from those by-gone days? If you have some of your own manuscripts from the days when we were all honing our gaming skills, we would like to add it into our collection of unique adventures. The more ludicrous the goal, the more illogical the plot, the better for our line of High-Adventure from Middle School line of adventures.

Most of the text was in a cursive font, not real cursive. The maps are pretty much what I remembered from the "good old days." Personally, I would have done the text in the "A2like" font and used Print Shop images, so it would look [...]

Good thing that this is for free, because it's not worth any amount of money, however small. Its only virtue is a little bit of nostaglia for old school gamers. With this--and the makers' other similar products--all you get are, literally, handwritten [...]

well its free, but I have to admit if it had cost me $1 or more, I would have 1- starred this module in a heartbeat. It definitely lives up to the hype. The treasure and rewards are too much and most DM's will be able to kill the party without much eff [...]

Cute idea, but virtually unreadable. Trying to simulate a kid writing in a loose leaf notebook, they went overboard with notebook graphics and a cursive font, making it very difficult for these middle aged eyes to read. Also sluggish, very sluggish eve [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
