This is a 54-card accessory for the
Covert Ops Role Playing Game.

This deck contains 5 sets of initiative cards numbered 1-10 and two each of "Wild" and "Skip," and is themed for the Covert Ops role playing game.  If you are interested in purchasing the full digital download (which includes several products in one zip file) or the hardcover book which includes all three of the product's books in one, please go here: Core Product.  What follows is a description specific to this deck.

Initiative Deck

Keeping track of things in a role playing game can be tedius.  In Covert Ops, initiative is handled pretty easily; everyone rolls a number of dice equal to their INIT score and chooses the highest one and presents it proudly for all to see.  But then the turn begins, and people start rolling dice everywhere.  Ability checks, skill checks, resistance checks... eventually, people forget which die on the table represents their initiative.

That's where this deck comes in.  It is described in the GMs Operations Manual. Simple deal out a number of cards equal to each operative's INIT score and let them return the ones they don't want to you.  Then it's as easy as glancing around the table to see who's next.  The cards stand out against the plethora of dice being tossed about, and won't get lost in the action.

Included are two special cards: Wild and Skip.  Those with INIT scores higher than 1 won't have to worry too much about getting a Skip result, because they get to choose which initiative card they're dealt that they wish to use for the turn.  But who doesn't want to be Wild for a turn, acting whenever they wish even if it interrupts or cancels someone else's action?!

The core rulebook includes a print & play version of the initiative cards, and you can also find that same print & play set as a free digital download above.  But those Avery Business Cards are a bit rough to shuffle and they wear quickly.  Get yourself a deck of PrintOnDemand cards today, and keep the action and adventure flowing at the gaming table, without having to take notes to see who's next!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
