Super heroes in front of logo

In the panels and pages of comics, it is often the hero's origin that molds them into someone that defies the odds and stands for Justice. Once set upon their path, these heroes rarely change as they stand the test of time and the unending call to action. This is not that story.

Building on rules created by Simon Washbourne, SUPERS Revised Edition takes the action and adventure of your favorite Super Heroic comics and slams it back down to your gaming table. Crafted by system experts Aldo Regalado and Rus Boyd, SUPERS Revised Edition take the rules you love and make them the rules you can't game without!

  • Unified mechanics mean less time in the book and more time in the battle.
  • New Powers and Aptitudes expand the scope of the game.
  • Apply Boosts and Complications to any aspect of the game.
  • Optional Rules are included to expand the game to your liking.

Don't stand idly by as comic book heroes steal the spotlight. With SUPERS Revised Edition: Build your Supers! Build your world! Be Heroic!

Hey there. The only change were some spelling corrections and some layout fiddly bits you wouldn't notice unless you look under the hood (we are getting ready for the thicker and premium paper). Thank you,
Best Regards,

As stated, there's a TON of support for SUPERS RED out there. take a few minutes and look at the sight, and you'll find it.

Every time I've gone online to look up Supers! the only things that comes up at a couple of review from a few years ago and Drive Thru RPG.

Supplements may be out there, but they are not very visible to a standard search.

You can search for SUPERS! under Rules System right on this site. It'll pull up a nice long list of products. There's usually something new every month.

I love Supers! RED. It is a great game and I think it really manages to capture the feel of comics. If there is any negative at all, it would be that it seems to have no support whatsoever. I would have liked to see more books for use with the system, but it looks to me like it's been abandoned.

Hey there!

Thank you for the high praise of our game. I will respectfully disagree that RED has been abandoned. We have 3 adventures out by us, Scene Stealers. Stone Mountain Games have taken Supers to the next level with Search and Destroy. Fainting Goat Games have published adventures using their Improbable Tales Line. We have a slew of 3rd party folks who have released characters monthly. We just released our SKULL supplement in conjunction with Zenith Comics (backers got it first). And the setting Extreme earth and the maxi rulebook, Super Villains handbook all have Supers Support. RED is alive and thriving!

Well that's good to know. I looked (casually) for supplements and books but hadn't found any. Now I have titles to look up. Thanks.

SUPERS! Rev. Ed. hits the sweet spot for detail and playability among supers RPGs! I have played many supers games and written a few myself, and I consider SUPERS! to be among the best I have worked with. My players love it! The appendix also makes the rules miniature or counter friendly, so folks who dig the grid can enjoy slightly more tactical games too!

You can build simpler characters in minutes, and more complex builds take less than 20 minutes or so. Mook and Companion rules allow for hordes of minions and loyal sidekicks!

Options allow you to tailor the game's lethality to go from Bronze Age style games to the brooding Iron Age '90's feel.

This one has it all!

I want to throw my ten cents in as I am a massive fan, though I am probably more than a little biased, but Quinn has covered many of the things I like about Supers!
If you like Superhero games and want something that is low on crunch and flows like a comic book, without being hand wavy or too narrative in approach take a look at Supers.
If you like really detailed rules and enjoy or cant do without them, Supers! may be a bit on the lite side of things for your taste.

Well I took a chance and picked up the PDF anyhow, even though the previews (3 pages) really doesn't give much to go on but so far it looks really neat. Can't say it's my go to game so far as without a hard copy book in my hand it wont be. So why is there no POD option for this game? Really tell me, I really want to know, it seems allot of games have that as an option these days and my printer can't handle this amount of ink to print out a book, so a POD option is a no brainer to me.

They're waiting for the print proofs to arrive before activating the POD option--but it is coming.

It's true. There was a glitch in the first print proofs that needed a correction. Once those are done we will make those available right away. Thank you very much for picking up the book and letting us know what is working and what isn't. More to come soon.

HA! We pulled the POD to reformat the cover. Until we get it back, take a gander at this amazing Jon Gibbons Alternate Cover! http://www.rpgnow.com/product/132031/SUPERS-Revised-Alternate-Cover - Once we get the proofs back, we will reload the original cover version. TY

I supported the Kickstarter for this revised edition. The original Supers! was good enough to convince me to change game systems for my super hero gaming (I have been a HUGE fan of the Chaosium/Basic-Roleplaying system since the mid-eighties and used the original SuperWorld with some tweaks).

While I have yet to read this revised version from cover-to-cover, I do see improvements/tweaks to the Supers! game system that are all for the better. Frankly, I tend to be wary of changes to a good game system as it can actually ruin what you loved about the original. Thankfully that is NOT the case here. This revision was a labor of love -and it shows.

"Okay, but there are a thousand super hero RPGs out there now, what makes Supers! different?"

There is a verbal element to the game that helps capture the feel of a comic better than any other super hero game I have read/played. Players are encouraged to described how they are using a power/skill and often you can...See more

Well done with the update! I've only had a chance to skim the surface, but it appears to be a well-done expansion/clarification of the original Supers! rules. I worry about losing some of the pick-up-and-play charm of Supers! BLUE, but seeing as how a lot of the rules are optional, I'm assuming one can craft the type of game they want to play. My only suggestion is that the Mook combat example could use an illustration of the Qualities outlined earlier. Feel like Petrov should have raced upstairs and grabbed a special weapon of some kind to use against Lady Chi (gas grenade, BFG, etc.). Then you kill two birds with one stone there. Other than that, it looks very sleek, clean and professional. Overall, I've always thought this game was superior to other Supers! games as far as capturing the feel of comics. Hopefully, other players will discover this truth as well. Well done.

A bit nit picky, but maybe add "some 6 sided dice" to the list of what you need to play. This is just from a quick glance at the preview so maybe it's mentioned elsewhere. I wIll definitely pick this up on pay day though, looks good!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
