Running this quest as a solo adventure for my daughter (8) and she is digging it. She is a 4th level druid with a few hirelings along for the ride. Highlight so far: She cast Speak with Animals to talk to the butterflies in the jar. I made their voices very ghostlike and creepy - her character warned everyone NOT to touch the jar under any circumstances. The darkness in the pantry similarly freaked her out, but she's starting to put together the secret behind the skulls and will have to go back there...

I'll post again once we've finished. So far, it is great.

David! I'm in love with this quest. I found it on a reddit post, I think? And from the moment I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I'm kinda new to the D&D world but the way you explained everything for the person DMing (ME) made it so much easer to follow along. I have read a few other mini quests and none compare to yours. I'm buying all the rest, and I must say your our creativity is limitless!!! I can not wait to see what else you come up with.

I started running this tonight for my all-girls Lamentations of the Flame Princess group. They really seemed to enjoy it, and I'm enjoying running it for them! It still remains to be seen what will happen in the end, but I'm recording the adventure on my YouTube channel if you're interested in reviewing our interpretation of the adventure.

Thanks chuck. I'm glad you enjoyed the module. Congrats on pulling off the twist at the end. I like your approach of planting sixth sense style clues all along - bet it made the twist much more impactfull!

My gaming group of three 1st level characters (Paladin, Rogue, Sorcerer) enjoyed this adventure immensely. We used D&D Next rules. As DM I kind of favored them in some of the fights (Poltergeists mostly threw objects at the high AC paladin and tended to try to scare to two halflings (Advantage vs being Frightened). They took a little damage but short rested once and none of them ended up at 0 hit points, though the paladin was close once. I also had the NPC Bard buff them with her songs, even though she was a [SPOILER ALERT!!], but mostly she stood in the back and didn't do anything, and I gave the players a great many fairly subtle sixth-sense type of clues throughout the game, and they enjoyed the shock twist at the end. They figured she had a low intelligence and was fairly shy. I'm considering {Spoiler} that the wand has 1 more charge left and its use ends up bringing her back as a permanent NPC. The layout is good, the rooms are well thought out and the puzzles are great for new players. I like the theme...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
