Fantasy Starter Token Pack

Wizards, warriors, rogues, and barbarians are the stuff of legends. Bards sing of the heroic deeds of such characters. This token pack gives Game Masters and Players access to a collection of mighty heroes that can be used to represent their RPG character on the virtual role-playing tabletop. The characters contained in this pack depict fantasy/historical themes.

The idea behind the Starter Token Packs is to give Players and Game Masters a basic set of tokens they can use for PCs or NPCs. Each starter token pack consists of several individual token character sets, with each token character set consisting of a range of tokens depicting the character in a wide range of action poses plus a range of different tokens displaying the character using different weapons. During a game, the player or Game Master can then use the various tokens to display the character in several states. Switching in different tokens when the character is wounded, using different weapons, etc.

What is a Virtual Tabletop Token?

Karissa the Blade Maden standing on a map grid squareWhen playing a roleplaying game (such as Dungeons & Dragons, or Pathfinder) online via a virtual tabletop application (such as FoundryVTT, or Roll20) you will often need to use a token to represent your character on the virtual tabletop. These tokens can represent your character or the monsters and NPCs controlled by the Game Master. Most virtual tabletop applications permit the use of imported graphics files (such as GIF, JPG, PNG, and WEBP) as tokens to represent characters, NPCs, and monsters. Thus you can use the PNG image files from this package as virtual tabletop character tokens by importing the image files into the virtual tabletop app of your choice.

  • Token Scale: Tokens from Studio WyldFurr make use of a 3:1 scale which is the same scale we use for our Map Tiles art assets. This scale matches three on-screen pixels to each real-world inch, giving us a map grid square of 180 pixels.
  • Compatibility: The Fantasy Starter Token Pack consists of a collection of image files (.png) that can be imported into almost any virtual tabletop app for use as PC or NPC game tokens. These tokens are for use in apps such as FoundryVTT, Roll20, d20Pro, etc. Check your application's documentation about how to import images for use as tokens.

Inside the Fantasy Starter Token Pack you will find the following token character sets:

  • Demophilos Son of Diadromes - 61 Tokens
  • Forest Nymph - 89 Tokens
  • Grimnir the Warrior - 63 Tokens
  • Jasser the Unseen - 68 Tokens

Tailz
“Hello there! I designed this pack of virtual tabletop tokens to give Players and Game Masters a beginner's set of character tokens that they can use to represent player characters ot non-player characters during roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder games. The pack contains fifteen human fantasy-themed character sets, each depicting the character in a range of action poses. Such as talking, fighting, and employing different weapons.”

FoundryVTT Version Artwork

To take advantage of the Actor token controls inside FoundryVTT, we have a special version of the token package with the token artwork scaled and sized specifically for FoundryVTT.

IMPORTANT: This package is not a stand-alone game! It is a collection of image files that can be employed as character tokens inside a virtual tabletop App (such as FoundryVTT, Roll20, D20Pro, etc). Please check your application's documentation about how to use imported images as character tokens.

At this point in time all token sets offered by Studio WyldFurr are for the personal and private use of the buyer. The packs are not offered as material that can be redistributed in any means (this includes for commercial exploitation). We may in the future create special art packs for the creation of derivative commercial products, but not at this time.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
