“What do you need stranger? We have no room here for you to sleep. If you are here to steal my sheep you will feel the blade I have tempered to stab the wolves.”

Medieval Small House is a single map of the interior rooms and exterior of a medieval dwelling suitable for two people living there.

Medieval Small House is intended for fantasy or medieval historical settings.

Adventure hook for this product:

Slaughtered Livestock: The group meets an ill-tempered shepherd who is angry that his sheep are disappearing at night. After calming him down, he invites the group to a fish dinner with his wife, a capable fisherwoman. He tells the group that his sheep are being slaughtered at night. Each morning, he finds one dead, full of bite and claw marks. He suspects a pack of wolves is responsible for the slaughtering of his sheep and will pay the group well for their pelts. He can offer payment in thick wool clothing, smoked fish, or forged weapons.

The group patrols the area and eventually finds a wolf pack to defeat and bring back their pelts. But when they return, they still find a sheep slaughtered that morning. The shepherd pays them and pleads for them to stay the night, keep watch on the sheep, and find out who is actually slaughtering his sheep. He suspects something larger now, like a bear.

While watching the sheep, the group sees the farmer’s wife sleepwalking out of the house. Once the moonlight hits her, she turns into a werewolf, and attacks the group!

The detail in this map is astounding! It's nearly sensory overload, but I love it!

One request though, for VTT use, can you easily get us a copy without the sheep on the map? It would be awesome to have the sheep as objects to add to the token layer, if you can. It's just silly to put them on the map though, when you can let the AI have them wandering about. ;)

Hmm.. I suppose if the sheep are going to wander about, the yard around the house could be bigger. A fence might be nice to keep them penned in. Oh jeez, look at me, making a new map, lol! Ok, then just one without sheep will do. :)

..if it's easy, that is! If you don't have the source file laying around, I can just crop them out myself. Might be nice to have a sample of that grass you used, though. ;)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
