Welcome to the Empire of Rust.
A land that spans from the undead controlled oil fields in the far north through the remains of some of the greatest pre-fall cultural centers humanity ever lost. Focusing on details of
Oilberta, the Pacific Providence, the Under-Sea, Bridge City, and the Lilac City. There is a vast volume of information from large scale culture to more localized businesses.

Inside you will find details about the last humans to fall, the
Genjian, as well as the faith driven Nation of Accensor and the faithless Red Star.
Here you will find details about the Cult of Fallow Hopes along with a section that outlines many scientific ‘discoveries’ about the nature of the plague that ended humanity.

It baffles me why so many RPG publishers use the first few pages of a book as a preview, without any consideration for whether those pages do a good job of selling the product. I have absolutely no experience in sales or marketing, and even I can tell that's often a bad idea. In this case, two of the six pages of the preview are blank(!), there's a sparse table of contents (consisting mostly of place names which mean nothing to me), and a page of game fiction. Is that really the best you can come up with to show off what you've created?

Just took a look at the preview for your core rulebook, and it's even worse: one blank page, a table of contents, *three* *pages* of "What is a roleplaying game?" (do you really think anybody who would be reading the preview doesn't already know what an RPG is?), and a page telling me that Dystopia Rising is a science-fiction survival horror game with action elements (as if I couldn't have guessed that from the product description). What the preview *should* include, but doesn't, is something that would give an idea of how the game system works.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
