Blood of Pangea

Remember sword and sorcery?  In the pulp tradition?

Blood of Pangea is a narrative fantasy role-playing game with old-school leanings, which means the best of both worlds.  Herein you'll find:

Rules for sword and sorcery role-playing that come close to letting you "write" your character, just like the pulp authors did - now this is old-school...

Extremely simple, yet richly detailed, rules for doing...EVERYTHING!

An innovative (and narrative) magic system with NO SPELL LISTS NEEDED; just follow the simple sorcery rules to cast spells on the fly, although doing so comes at a price...

Resources for players to adventure in the ancient world of Pangea, all while leaving as much as possible to the judges (and the players) to fill in on their own.

Become a barbarian hero and write your own path in the savage worlds you create!

I printed it out today. I wanted it in hand to try the game at the table.
But would still like an updated print copy, if the future brings it ;)

What is the intended way for traits to affect rolls? It is mentioned that an appropriate trait will enable attempts that would not otherwise be possible, or make certain appropriate rolls easier, but the text does not seem to have an opinion on how, exactly, this easing would work.<br /><br />
Should it be a shifting down on the difficulty scale, a small numerical bonus or something else? I am mainly asking out of interest in what the original vision for how the character narrative interacts with the rules is.<br /><br />
(Also, I really like the game overall! Great job!)

Hey, thanks for the kind words! Also, you're right; shift up or down on the difficulty scale. Difficulty is a subjective determination based on the task, but also the character attempting it. Having an exceptional personal attribute is exactly the sort of thing that should put them in a better bracket. Hope this helps! Also, have fun playing the game. We greatly appreciate your support...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
