Chill 3rd Edition

A Horror Roleplaying Game

Reuben Hall disppeared from his parents' home last night. He's out there somewhere, the captive of a creature of the Unknown. The police are looking for him diligently, but they don't know what they're looking for or the nature of what they're facing - but you do. You're members of the Eternal Society of the Silver Way, dedicated to protecting others from the Unknown.

You have very little time, though. Will you stand with us? Remember — SAVE is on your side.

Chill 3rd Edition is an investigative horror roleplaying game about people who stand up against monsters, hunting down supernatural threats and protecting the world from the Unknown. You don’t have to be a superhero to be a member of SAVE; you just have to stand up and join us.

Good Fences Make Good Neighbors is a free scenario for Chill 3rd Edition. It includes all the rules you need to play it, and comes with five pre-generated characters. The scenario plays in two to four hours, depending on your group, and serves as an introduction into the game system and setting of Chill 3rd Edition. We hope you like it!

For ages 13 and up.

"If Jennifer's player thinks to use the discipline on Lady, have her make a specific Telepathic Empathy check, and then substract WPR depending on her result." (P.25)
I cannot find any mention of how much WPR must be substracted depinding on her result.

Whoops, *that's* gonna need to be fixed. Botch = lose 20 and discipline doesn't work. Failure = lose 20 OR the discipline doesn't work. Low success = lose 10. High success = lose 5. Colossal success = lose 0.

Is it the same thing for the Heal discipline of Thomas? I asked because it is mention that it has a cost without specifying how much it is. What about the disciplines of others characters?

Yep. Thomas' Heal, Rory's Line of Defense, and BB's Feat of Strength all use that same system. Using a discipline also requires the player to turn a token dark.

Loved the adventure, but couldn't find any mention of what gear the characters had and what trauma rank their weapons were.

Yeah, true. Generally, assume that characters have reasonable* access to gear that they know how to use; Thomas can have a shotgun, Jennifer can have a bow, that kind of thing. Ballistic weapons generally default to Serious Injury Rank.

* "Reasonable access" varies by the case. This case is set outside of Cleveland; you want a shotgun, you can literally drive 10 minutes from where this game is set and buy one.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
