ZIP File
TALES OF THE OSS: The Train is our first Adventure Pack for Simply Roleplaying! Author Mike DeSanto has created a tense World War II adventure where the players are daring opeatives of the OSS (precursors to today's Special Forces), inserted behind enemy lines to stop a strategically-critical Nazi train.

As OSS officers, players must make contact with a band of brave but headstrong members of the French Resistance, win their confidence, train them in their special brand of undercover tactics, and lead them in a number of missions to stop the Nazis in their tracks. Based on historical stories of this amazing group of freedom fighters, TALES OF THE OSS: The Train offers drama and excitement of a different kind for players and gamemasters who may be tired of the same old dungeons.

The package comes complete with new weapons and equipment cards, character sheets for some pre-designed player characters (or you can create your own using the Simply Roleplaying! rules), important handouts and pullouts for ease of play, and even a set of black-and white cardstock figures of OSS operatives, resistance fighters and Nazi forces. Artwork by Jeremy McHugh adds a great touch of historical atmosphere to this great adventure package -- now available for instant download for only $5.00!

The one good thing about this is that it has got my wife into RPG. She is not interested in Fantasy or Sci-Fi but to a shine to Tales of the OSS. It has a good set of adventures and background information but the timeline limites the expansion i [...]

A good looking short campaign. I like the historical influences that went into developing this supplement. The book does rely on the readers ability to educate themselves on the war, the background of the OSS, and such, but I wouldn't expect much els [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
