In Lord Alex's Letter the PCs chance upon an ambush in which a lone traveler is beset by attackers. Aiding the poor man is noble but futile: he is doomed, but, before dying he gives the characters his last words and his shield. This leads them into a web of intrigue, court politics and trouble. Can the heroes discharge the duties of the Herald and carry out the man's final request, possibly saving a kingdom, or will the burden the man bore prove too great for them, condemning the area to warfare and tyranny?
