This supplement contains descriptions of nearly 50 unique agencies, organizations, and secret societies from the early 20th century. Although they are designed for use with the 1948 Campaign Setting, they can also be used seamlessly with any WWII campaign setting, such as Hell on Earth (1939-1945). They can also be used with any other sort of RPG dealing with the early 20th century including World War I, 1930s gangsters, Lovecraftian horror, or archaeological adventure. These organizations can also be used with non-d20 rules systems, as they are merely descriptions of organizations. Aside from being classified as ?Allegiances? under the d20 rule system, they do not actually use game mechanics.

This supplement is divided into three sections. The first deals with government agencies including the Nazi Occult Bureau, the British MI-5, the Department of Psychotronic Research, and the GRU, among others. These semi-secret government agencies are outlined with a discussion on their purposes, policies, and practices. The Second section of this supplement focuses on secret societies, many of which deal with occultism, divine faith, or organized crime. These include the Templar Knights, the Rosicrucians, the Priory of Sion, the League of Blood, the Vril, the Genovese crime family, Skull and Bones, the Black Dragon Society, the Golden Dawn, the New Forest Witches, and many more. The descriptions also feature brief stat-blocks that detail when the society was founded, the regions of the world it is active in, its symbol, and its mission. The last section of this supplement discusses political and social ideologies of the early 20th century such as Communism, Nazism, and Capitalism, as well as a few resistance groups such as the White Russians. Each description includes an overview of the group's purpose, goals and membership.

Buy this supplement today and add a new level of intrigue and mysticism to your early 20th century RPG!

Not bad. Useful for Pulp-era campaigns besides the titular 1948 setting, or perhaps even Present-Day campaigns dealing with conspiracies. I see little reason why many of the Occult groups and other secret societies could not be active today, and even [...]

It's simply a nice little collection and overview of secret societies and organizations from around the world. Most are based on those common and popular in conspiracy theorist lore. LIKED: Well organized, easy to read. DISLIKED [...]

A fairly large selection of Occult, intelligence, and paramilitary agencies "for use" with the d20 system. LIKED: The groups are a mix of real and imaginary, so quite a few can be used with a minimum of tampering with history. [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
