In this book, you’ll find everything you need to create an anthropomorphic animal character compatible with the rules in the SRD5. Perhaps you’re a player looking for a specific furry race to craft your perfect avatar, or a DM building a vast world with diverse and fantastical residents. Whatever your desire, the options and rules presented are intended to give you the utmost convenience and flexibility to make incredible anthro characters.

About Anthros

Anthro is a term that collectively refers to creatures of numerous races of anthropomorphic animals. All anthros have the humanoid creature type, appended with the (anthro) tag.

The typical anthro (if there is such a thing), is roughly human-sized and shaped. They have animalistic skulls, though sometimes the muzzle is shortened, giving the anthro a somewhat more human profile. While fur is the dominant skin covering for anthros (hence, the race’s most common slang epithet: furry), other bloodlines might boast colorful plumage, a variety of reptilian and piscine scales, or even a chitin exoskeleton.

Fursona 5E is an update to the series for D&D 5th Edition. It contains converted content from the original Fursona:The Definitive Guide to Creating Anthropomorphic Characters, plus new material exclusive to this sourcebook.

It features a streamlined approach to character creation, so generating an anthro has never been easier. Choose from 21 races and 72 subraces, or create your own creature using a comprehensive list of traits.

Also included are new subclasses, backgrounds, feats, spells, items, and everything else you need for an anthro campaign. Whether you are a player looking to create your perfect furry avatar, or a DM building a vast world with diverse and fantastical residents, Fursona 5E is your definitive source.

The author, Keith McBlane, is a freelance graphic designer, and DM of six years.  He hosts two podcasts, Friendship & Firelight and Dice To Meet You, the latter of which is an Actual Play D&D game, which he runs for a group of complete strangers. This is his first publication in the world of RPGs, and if you don’t buy it, it will be a powerful blow to his self-esteem.

Question! I am the opposite of the top inquiry. Do I have to purchase the older versions for the mature content? And if yes is there a way to make it work for 5th edition or would I have to find a conversion of pathfinder to 5e?

So I have a question. While I think this book looks interesting and I am thinking about maybe getting myself a hard copy I thought I would like to ask a question of either the developer or anyone who has purchased it, which is how much sexual content is in this book?

The reason I ask is because I have seen some of the other fursona books for pathfinder and some of them contain some content I would rather not have my players seeing. So is the content in here enough to embarrass me so I don't want to share this book with my players or is it tamer compared to the creator's other fursona books?

Thank you very much for reading this question. I will be looking forward to your answer.

PUBLISHER
Chris Field, the writer of the original Fursona here.

Fursona 5E is all ages. It's by a different author, Keith McBlane, who specifically chose not to include any of the sexual elements from the 3.5/PFRPG compatible version of Fursona. Keith wanted to put out a cleaner version in hopes of attracting a wider audience.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
