Selected Option:

Against the Axis is a WW2 era superhero RPG supplement written by gaming luminary Steve Perrin for ICONS. It's set in the Stark City campaign setting - but Stark City is not required.

Praise for Against the Axis:

Dr. Comics (aka Professor Jason Tondro) has this to say about Against the Axis: "From subterranean Vril to the Man with Green Gloves, from Panzer mecha to Nazi supermen fueled by Asgardian beer, this book has everything you never knew you always needed to run a Golden Age campaign."

Chuck Rice of Mayfar Games says: "Steve Perrin delivers a wonderful trip into the Golden Age of Comics. Along the way, he provides some WWII history, some comics history, and a lot of great villains for your heroes to fight and heroes for them to interact with or play. If you want to take a trip to WWII for the ICONS system, you should buy Against the Axis!"

Steve Kenson, ICONS creator says : “Industry veteran Steve Perrin delivers both classic Golden Age comic book style and a wealth of useful information for Game Masters interested in World War II-era adventures or an entire series. A must-have expansion for the Stark City setting!"

Sean Patrick Fannon (Shaintar, Savage Rifts) says: "One thing my friend, Steve Perrin, knows better than almost anyone else in gaming is World War II era of the Golden Age, especially as it applies to superhero gaming. He is deservedly a legend in gaming circles that quite literally go back to the beginning of gaming, both as a GM and as a writer/designer. This book is an incredible treat - not just for Stark City fans, but for anyone wishing to run rollicking, two-fisted heroic adventures across the world of the Golden Age. One-part total expertise with the subject, one-part masterful prose for the tone, and one-part genuine love of the era you won't find in another source = the perfect book for this genre."

Fainting Goat Games has struck a deal with long-time fan-favorite publishing house Heroic Comics that allows us to use several of their Golden Age characters in this setting. In addition, Heroic will be publishing a special Golden Age comic written by Steve Perrin that ties in with Against the Axis. My PDF Reader(Adobe) has serious issues with the Fonts and displaying pictures. Anybody else has that problem?
Actually I am pretty unable to read it.

we have ordered a proof copy of the POD. Once we confirm that it's bug-free and good to go, it'll be up for sale. Process usually takes a week or two. (If there are no problems to fix...)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
