WASTELAND SETTLEMENT RULES PDF

Nuclear fire from World War 3 cleansed the surface of the Earth in 1969 but life in this alternate Hypercorps 2099 timeline persists—now, nearly a century and a half later, survivors are exiting their underground shelters to comb the ruins of civilization and fight for a new world. Are you set on staking a claim and defending what’s yours, will you champion justice and battle for what is right, or become one of the mad warlords that rules over the Wasteland?

Hypercorps 2099 Wasteland aims to deliver a means to do all of those things as a campaign source book for Fifth Edition, helping GMs generate their own personal Wastelands with gameplay that reinforces exploration of a procedurally generated world where survival is as important as anything else!

This is a promotional PDF for the Hypercorps 2099: Wasteland Kickstarter, funding from Tuesday November 29th to Sunday December 18th! Please check out the project page on Kickstarter and consider making a pledge.

The nature of gameplay in Hypercorps 2099 Wasteland is fundamentally different from your average game of Fifth Edition—in addition to changing how rests operate, offering up a slew of new class archetypes and races, introducing new rules for dehydration and starvation, the inclusion of mad science, and a host of lethal monsters, one of the main focal points of this altered gameplay are the creation and maintenance of settlements. Everything you need to get an apocalyptic civilization off the ground is in this PDF!

What you’ll find in Hypercorps 2099 Wasteland: Settlement Rules:

  • Settlement Creation - Streamlined rules for gathering resources (manpower, natural resources, and technology) from a newly discovered region of the Wasteland and how to turn those resources into a settlement.

  • Resource Availability - The core concept at the procedurally generating Wasteland!

  • Settlement Attributes - The higher a settlement’s Appeal, Necessities, Order, and Security, the more survivors visit and decide to stay!

  • Example of Play - Wondering how this all works? Browse to page 9 and see it in action!

  • Hazards of the Wasteland - Making a settlement is one thing but making a settlement that lasts—that’s another matter entirely.

  • The Bureau - Backers of the Hypercorps 2099 Wasteland Kickstarter will be voting on which other warlords make it into the final version of the book and an example of how that’ll look is here along with a combat map, settlement perks, and four NPCs: the Bureaucrat (CR 1), Bureau Agent (CR 3), Bureau Handler (CR 5), and dreaded Bureau Chief (CR 9)!

Hypercorps 2099 is not required for exploring the Wasteland and this is a standalone supplement.

    Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
    Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
