Welcome to Christmas in July! For the rest of July, this digital title has been marked down by 25%! For more values, visit our Christmas in July sale page.

This GM screen lets you run combats, create encounters and more without having to consult the Kaigaku rule book. It's compatible with The Black Hack by David Black, as well as all other Hacks descended from that game. You can also use it with most other OSR games.

This tool is jsut as much for the players as it is for the GM. The player-facing side includes rules for Combat, Honor, Contacts, Advantage/Disadvantage Social Combat, the "Core Rule" and a refresher on Kaigaku etiquette for their reference.

This product is a set of eight inserts for the Hammerdog Ultimate GM Screen, which is durable and customizable. You can bundle the inserts with the Ultimate GM Screen for the price of the screen itself, essentially making this product FREE!

Check out our Kickstarter project, Kaigaku: The Ruined Kingdom, to help bring our next adventure to life. It expands the world of Kaigaku to include new nations inspired by the Mongols, Persia and China, with tons of new character options, beasts, locations and more. It's only going on for one week, so make sure to back it today!

Is it correct that the first two pages/panels are both identical (Combat), and that the 3rd and 4th panel/page has the left column on Dueling repeated across both pages? Also, just a suggestion, but perhaps you could make it visibly clear somehow which are the player facing panels and which are the ones for the GM. Now it's rather unclear without reading them in detail, so if I print these and they get mixed out of order for whatever reason, it isn't clear from a quick glance which goes on which side of my screen.

Sorry, I just noticed this. You make a fantastic point about labeling. And yeah, the idea is that the GM screen can/should also prevent players from having to flip through the book.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
