Does book 1 contain all the chargen rules from the Core Rulebook? I'm putting together a game and would like to have something light that I can hand around to my players.

I know that's possibly quite a bit of work, but I hope at some point we'll see optimized PDFs for this. The complexity of the layout (I suspect especially the background graphics and shaded bars at the top and the bottom of the page) seems to be far too much for iBooks - most pages take multiple seconds to build up (often being completely white when turning the page).

Since this is the pdf version of the boxed set, does it also include print friendly pdf versions of each book?

The Starter Set is very cool, but being it a pdf and not even having an index, good bookmark are essential for a digital product, especially at a so high price.
Is it possible to see an update with better bookmarks?
I'm pretty sure the Main Corebook has them, while the Sarter Set ones are very poor.

All the starship creation rules are in High Guard. The core rules provide templates and stats for iconic starcraft in the Imperium along with rules for starship operations and world generation.

I don't understand what this product is. If it contains the core rules, why doesn't it says so, instead it lists Book 1 and 2... The description should be more specific, and you might have put a table of contents in the preview.

The Starter Set is an alternative form of the core rules along with a starter campaign. It's aimed, not surprisingly, at Starter players in the same way that D&D/Pathfinder/Star Wars has a Starter set/Beginner box. The Traveller Starter set has complete rules, however, and is a complete core game. It won't be an essential purchase to anyone who owns the Core rules already, as they are largely replicated from them (but formatted into two books). You do get a whole new Campaign book though, along with a big map, so this may be useful to any gaming group regardless.

This is spot on. I love starter sets, but was very disappointed that this starter set is a repeat of the core rulebook split into two. You don't need both, as far as I can tell.

I have purchased most of the Mongoose Traveller material already.
What is there in this product that I will need that may not have already obtained?
In other words, sell this product to me... I just cannot see any compelling reason for me to purchase this.

Ces livres électroniques ont été créés physiquement en scannant les originaux et en utilisant les images obtenues pour faire les pages pdf. Chaque page est passée par un programme de reconnaissance optique ces caractères (OCR) afin d'essayer de déchiffrer le texte imprimé. Le résultat de ce procédé OCR est situé de manière invisible derrière l'image de chaque page scannée, pour permettre d'utiliser des recherches de texte. Cependant, un texte dans un livre donné sur un fond graphique ou avec des fontes manuelles ne sera probablement pas reconnu par le programme OCR, et ne sera donc pas pris en compte dans les recherches. Aussi certains livres imposants peuvent être redimensionnés pour correspondre au système, et peuvent ne pas avoir cette fonctionnalité de recherche de texte. La plupart des livres les plus vieux et en rupture d'impression sont dans le format images scannées.

Ces livres électroniques ont été créé à partir des versions électroniques, et permettent donc d'utiliser pleinement la fonction recherche. De plus, la taille de leur fichier tend à être plus petite que celle des livres scannés. La plupart des livres récents sont dans le format électronique original.
