It all ended in moments, reality was torn asunder and with it the Aerthe, the oceans rose up and the mountains crumbled, cities were buried or wiped away as if they never existed. Many of the races that once flourished became extinct instantly, the Akin-Ya with their crystal cities and their advanced knowledge, the Halflings who brewed their ales and kept to themselves, the Avrin and their corrupt souls, existed no longer.

When the tremors stopped and the skies cleared the survivors crawled from their hiding places into a new world, a world changed from the one they knew, alternate Aerthe’s at one-time unseen and separated by reality had converged and moved through each other leaving echoes of themselves and fractures in space time. With these echoes came new cities and races and with the fractures came doorways to other realms, doors that swung both ways.

This is the Chronicles of Aerthe a world of adventure, of horror and intrigue, where nothing is quite what it seems and other realms beyond your own exist to explore.

The Chronicles of Aerthe Fantasy RPG comes with:

  • A Unique world setting.
  • A Character Creation Experience with unique races and over a dozen Professions.
  • A 2D6 mechanic that’s simple and fast.
  • Rules for Fear and Stress
  • Stealth as a chapter not just a section in skills allowing Heists, Flashbacks, and Stealth Zones.
  • A Magic System that’s simple and open to all characters
  • Rules for brewing potions and poisons and crafting armour and weapons.

And much more.

Hello Rogue Blade Games, I'm a Kickstarter backer for Chronicles of Aerthe. I received my PDF but never got my link for the version from DriveThruRPG. I'm unable to reach you since you left Kickstarter. How can I have my link to the DriveThruRPG version, please? Being a Kickstarter backer, I expect to get all the updates you release on your file the same way people who bought it from this site.

I bought this two days ago (the PDF version) and haven't been able to download it. Still trying though! Anxious to get it.

Okay it's been 5 days and unable to download the file after purchase. Is there something wrong with the file itself? Or perhaps rpgnow?

220 MB ? What about a lighter version?

So in the video, that was the hardback that was shown?

Thanks for the video. That convinced me to pick up the book. I like that it's more digest size; I didn't realize DTRPG did anything other than standard US Letter or A4. Looks like you made use of the bleeds for chapter markings as well. If you were delayed by redoing the layout, I'd say it was probably worth it.

Thanks, we prefer the smaller books also they 'feel' better oddly.

I'm not a representative, but I'd say that the 4 sourcebooks material is included. I downloaded the full-size preview (84 MB for 6 pages???) which is just the table of contents. It does however list all the professions available and there appear to be 15 with a mix of the Shadow, Martial, Arcane and Faith.

I will say that preview is out of date and for some reason did not update when I updated the files, so their are 12 professions, 4 for each of Arcane, Martial, Faith and Shadow.

Same question as GeoCentric D - do the players' guides contain info not present in the corebook?
Customer avatar
Jayson L July 19, 2017 8:51 am UTC
No the Players Guides are for those players not wishing to pay full price for stuff they won't ever use, like GM stuff etc.

All of the Player's Guide state...
"You do not need the Corebook with this guide unless you plan on creating characters of other Professions or need the GM Section, Bestiary and Background information."

Is all of the information in these 4 guides included in this core book?

The Core book holds all the information you need, the Players are for those that intend just to play certain types of character, this was intended to reduce the cost for those that are just wanting to play the game and never GM.
Each Players book holds enough info for the professions within that type and the Guild that is available to them. The Core book is the complete book.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
