For that reason, this publication includes many voices and exclusive material compatible with many rules systems and the products of many different companies.

d∞ (“d-Infinity”) Volume #4: Dark Future
Regular price: $4.99
Bundle price:
 $2.50
Format:
 PDF

A Dark Future is one of the most omnipresent themes in science fiction and fantasy literature, films, and games. From the grim futures postulated by H.G. Wells in The War of the Worlds and The Time Machine, to the dystopian societies described by Aldous Huxley in Brave New World and George Orwell in 1984, to the post-apocalyptic worlds of The Walking Dead and Suzanne Collins in The Hunger Games, the predominant vision for the future is generally a dark one. And whether the cause is aliens, vampires, zombies, atomic holocaust, oppressive governments, megacorporations, or divine retribution, the net effects tend to be strikingly similar. It is to this theme that this volume of d-Infinity is dedicated.

d-Infinity Volume #5: Full Circle
Regular price: $4.99
Bundle price:
 $2.50
Format:
 PDF

To many of us, the idea of going full circle — as opposed to simply going in circles — is to not just come back to the place one started out but to also have accomplished or discovered something in the process. For the authors, artists, and editors of d-Infinity, that means looking back at what we have experienced as members of the game industry over the past three decades and beyond, from the things we have learned and enjoyed to those that we have created for the enjoyment of others. It is probably much the same for anyone who started as a consumer of games and who has, to one extent or another, moved on to being a producer of them. Of particular concern to us, of course, is what we have accomplished thus far with d-Infinity.

d-Infinity Volume #6: The Mythos
Regular price: $4.99
Bundle price:
 $2.50
Format:
 PDF

From its very beginnings, the idea of the Mythos has pervaded role-playing gaming to one extent or another, overtly influencing innumerable authors, developers, and game masters. At its core, the idea behind the Mythos is that there is a vast body of pre-human — even alien in the most fundamental sense — history, science, and cosmology, that people periodically perceive glimpses of these cosmic horrors, that those who do quickly find ways to rationalize or forget about them, and that those who seek to delve into them suffer madness, death, or fates even worse.

d-Infinity Volume #7: Holidays & Celebrations
Regular price: $4.99
Bundle price:
 $2.50
Format:
 PDF

In the real lives of most people, holidays and celebrations of various sorts often provide them with their greatest experiences, and positive and negative events alike tend to be significantly more memorable when viewed through the lenses of festivities. While most game masters and storytellers certainly understand how festivals, holidays, and celebrations can be used to accentuate the action of their scenarios, however, such events are used surprisingly rarely in this way. Several of the features in this volume of d-Infinity are designed to be of use to game designers and authors who want to use holidays and celebrations to a greater extent in their stories.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
