Red Storm began the sacred chant. Beginning quietly, he sang the words of power, ancient when his people were still wide-eyed with wonder at this new land. The land that had now been taken from them by the pale interlopers with their strange tools and stranger ideas. The old medicine man had seen too many of his kinsmen die at the hands of the intruders. Victims of their rifles, or strange plagues, or traders smilingly offering whiskey, which the braves partook of despite Red Storm’s warnings, leaving them useless and their sons fatherless.

Red Storm sang his anguish into the words, giving them extra potency. After what seemed like hours, he finished his rite with a final shout. The area fell deathly silent. Red Storm looked up at his companions, weary but satisfied. "It is done," he said with a slight smile. "The strangers will soon feel the wrath of the People."

On the distant horizon, a storm cloud tinged the hue of blood took form…

The Lakota Terror is a short, no-frills adventure for Under Western Skies: Twilight Trails and other tabletop RPGs using a 2D6 mechanic based on the Traveller SRD (which is itself based on The Original 2D6 Science Fiction Game) starring characters of varied career backgrounds.

OK, Michael, we'll give you the handicap of not getting to grow up in or near reservations - Really, it was a shock when I first left Oklahoma and saw prejudice against Amerinds. When and where I grew up, if you didn't have some "Injun blood" in you, you were from out of town.

If you you can't afford research, you might take a look at some of the good work the folks at manataka.org are doing. We've come awfully close to losing all the history of our ancestors and they're doing a great job of rescuing it. There's still much that may never be rediscovered though.

Thanks for the feedback. All good points. I'll brush up on my research and upload a revised version soon. In my defense, however, I tried not to treat the Lakota as a monolithic bloc, but a diverse people, with divisions even within a particular band. It probably would help if I had Native American friends whose brains I could pick; sadly, I'm forced to rely on sometimes-flawed research.

The Lakota were routinely using guns at that era of the mid-1800s in fact they were using faster firing guns than most US Soldiers were in that region. The Lakota word for gun is not "thunder stick" at all. At this point the Lakota had most of the "strange tools" that they found useful for the way they lived. They were mostly confused why we chose money over people but were long past naive about us by that point. Alcohol while destructive was not a mystery to them at this point (even though their word for it contains the word for mystery in it).

Para crear las ediciones de descarga en PDF, cada página se ha procesado con un software de reconocimiento óptico de caracteres (OCR) para tratar de descifrar el texto impreso. El resultado se coloca de forma invisible debajo de la imagen de cada página escaneada para permitir búsquedas de texto. Por desgracia, la calidad resultante en tales libros no es tan alta. Es el problema que tiene hacer una copia de una copia. El texto se puede leer, pero las ilustraciones empiezan a verse oscuras, pixeladas o carentes de tonos de gris. Las fotos pueden desarrollar patrones moiré. Especificamos claramente qué títulos impresos provienen de imágenes escaneadas de libros, para que puedas realizar una decisión de compra informada acerca de la calidad de lo que vas a recibir.

Estos ebooks fueron creados a partir de los archivos originales de diseño digital y, por tanto, se pueden realizar búsquedas en todo su texto. Además, el tamaño de archivo tiende a ser más pequeño que el de los libros de imágenes escaneadas. LA mayoría de los libros más nuevos están en este formato. Tanto las versiones para descarga como para impresión de estos libros deberían tener una gran calidad.
