Port Fanchone

Hugging the coastline of an unforgiving and hostile continent, the small settlement of Port Fanchone grew around a tavern that began life as a trading post. A few more hardy adventurers and merchants now call the anchorage home, although it's a constant battle against the jungle and its scaly inhabitants..

A printable battlemap compatible with any RPG/Dungeon-Crawl game. Use as a standalone gameboard, or combine with any same-scale tileset.

Contents: A 30 x 30 map depicting a small coastal settlement near a tropical jungle. This small port boasts a simple tavern and bunk house, a shop for supplies, a warehouse and a few small homes. The port is located by the estuary of a river that leads to the jungle interior, and is overlooked by a forested plateau.

Included:

A pdf with 300dpi tiles ready for A4 printing

A set of 300dpi full size jpeg files, for poster printing

A set of 72dpi (140x140px) jpeg for Roll20 & other VTTs

Love the new map. Question - What determines which maps are available as printed cards and which are not? Is it a question of time (like having to prep maps in a certain way) or is there a cost to you, the creator? I ask because I have already purchased all the print maps you have available, REALLY like them, and would seriously purchase a lot more if I could.

Hi Brian. Yes, it's literally a question of time (except the modulars, where there's not an appropriate card size). We need to set up special templates and then generate files for printing. We have had time to make templates for the 20x20 and 50x50 sets, but haven't done any others yet. We'll get round to it at some point because we do like how the printed cards turn out. Thanks for the comment

Good to hear. Thanks, Joseph. The maps are just so gorgeous - I hate to print them on my crappy printer when the cards have such a nice, sturdy feel and the colors are totally vibrant. I'll just wait (semi-)patiently...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
