Abandoned Nuclear Reactor

DramaScape Modern Volume 75

This is a 40 x 40 inch Battlemap of an Abandoned Nuclear Reactor , it has Hex, Square and No Overlays, it also includes the VTT files for online play.

“It looks like a nearly intact nuclear reactor. If we could get it online again, we could use it to wire a power grid for our settlement. But the Guardians of Man have quarantined the area as it contains forbidden technology that caused the fall of mankind. You’ll need to sneak past them to get to the reactor. I’ve got some ammunition to give you if you succeed.  I’d give you food but we barely have enough for ourselves after the Guardians took most of our supplies.”—Human Settler.

Abandoned Nuclear Reactor is a single level exterior and interior map that depicts a four room above ground nuclear reactor and ten underground turbine rooms, with a surrounding fence and southern gate.

Abandoned Nuclear Reactor is intended for use in modern or post-apocalyptic games. It could also be of use in near-future science fiction games or cyberpunk.

Adventure hook for use with this map:

The Guardians of Man:  The Guardians of Man have blockaded a nearby nuclear reactor to prevent anyone from gaining access to forbidden tech from before the war. The nuclear reactor is almost perfectly preserved, somehow surviving the nuclear war intact. A nearby settlement is being forced to feed the Guardians of Man who are levying a food tax on them for protecting the reactor. When a group of wanderers arrives in town they concoct a reason to get them into conflict with the Guardians of Man hoping that the strangers and Guardians kill each other. Can the group avoid the Guardians of Man, succeed in getting the reactor online, and escape with their lives?

Where's the containment dome and cooling tower? Did the authors even look at a reactor, or did they just toss some tiles together?

The coolant room is the top right room, this reactor is based more on a near future fission or fission reactor.
The many compartments on the outside edges are used to control the cooling instead of a tower.

OK. That would be sufficient for gaming purposes.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
