Modern Floorplans: Neighborhood Drugstore

It had seemed simple enough. All that Jacob wanted to do was to grab some aspirin, a candy bar and maybe a Coke. However, as he saw the young teen looking around nervously, he knew that simple wouldn't be the adjective used to describe his trip to Blanco Drugs. As if prodded by some unheard alarm clock, the teen reach underneath his dirty, gray trench coat and quickly produced a sawed-off pump action shotgun. "Give me all the money,” the dark-haired man shouted nervously as he pointed the gun at the frightened girl at the register. Slowly and confidently, Jacob walked down the candy aisle toward the register with a smile of annoyance on his face. “What are you smilin’ about, old man,” the teen said as he whirled around and pointed the shotgun at Jacob. “Boy, you picked the wrong drugstore to rob.” Jacob said as he produced a pair of ASP’s with blinding speed.

Where do you go from here? To the battle map, of course! If you need a map of a modern structure, you need Modern Floorplans. The Modern Floorplans series from Fabled Environments and 12 to Midnight offers gamers high quality maps in a variety of configurations:

  • Want to draw it out yourself? Use the 8.5x11 map as a guide.
  • Want to simply drop the map on the table and play? Use either the 24x36 full map (if you have access to a plotter printer) or print the tiled version on regular paper using the large page tiling feature of Adobe Reader and assemble a full-size version yourself in a matter of minutes. Both versions are scaled at 1 inch equals 5 feet.
  • In addition, each floorplan also comes in versions without room labels and without furniture.

Note: All floorplans are rendered in black and white.

All maps are created by an architectural drafter using AutoCAD. This gives all of the maps the realistic feel that your players crave. Grab a copy of Modern Floorplans: Neighborhood Drugstore today, and keep an eye out for future releases!

Decent product. The floorplans are sharp and presented in a variety of styles. Its not as good a value as Oones products, but Oones doesn't do modern, so its decent enough. [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
