An Adventure Series Sourcebook for Trinity

The Battle Rages On

A year ago the alien Chromatics, using captive Upeo wa Macho — humans with the power to teleport — invaded our Solar System. Humanity united to repel the sneak attack. Now the tables are turned. Rescued teleporters and captive aliens provide the information necessary to exact revenge upon the invaders — to strike at the Chromatics' very homeworld.

Join the Front Lines!

Invasion is the first in the two part Alien Encounter adventure series that explores the Trinity Universe's mysterious — and deadly — alien races, as characters lead a daring counterattack against the warlike Chromatics. Comprehensive source material also provides Storytellers with a wealth of information about the alien homeworld, which can be the setting for any story.

Invasion includes:

  • Two complete adventures useable for any Trinity series
  • Revealing source material on the alien Chromatics and their world
  • Shocking secrets about the Upeo wa Macho, Chromatics, Aberrants, and a mysterious new alien race!

Hidden Lore

ReleaseInvasion was originally published in February 1999, and follows from the events of the Darkness Revealed trilogy. The purpose of the series was to spotlight various alien races in the Trinity setting; Invasion focused almost exclusively on the Chromatics. Player characters travel to the Chromatic homeworld via one of the new Leviathan-class jumpships. Throughout the adventures, their culture is examined in detail.

The adventure also reveals what happened to many of the missing Upeo wa Macho teleporters, reuniting them with the rest of Earth's psions. Later books will detail their use as a player character group for the first time.

Also revealed are the Doyen. While playing a minor role in the final part of Darkness Revealed, one is encountered "in the flesh," and their extensive manipulations of both humans and Chromatics are uncovered for the first time.

This book was the last released before the publication of the newly revised softcover Trinity rulebook. Although the rulebook didn't yet cover the Upeo wa Macho as playable, it did fully describe the secret history via the Storyteller-only "The Story So Far" section.

Cover: The cover by David Seeley depicts three psions — an Æsculapian, an Æon-affiliated electrokinetic, and a pyrokinetic Legionnaire — fending off attacking Chromatics.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
