on the familiar races of fantasy gaming, and over the
course of the line, will introduce several dozen new
player races and sub-races to the game. This volume
focuses on a selection of nearly human races renowned
for their inhuman eroticism and alien beauty.
Some creatures are made beautiful by their
very strangeness.
Fantasy gaming has always allowed gamers
to thrill to the exotic and the impossible. With only a
few words, a skilled game master can allow her
players to taste a kingly feast, to hear the sounds of
an Elven bard’s harp, to feel the blood-freezing
entropy of a white dragon’s breath. Gamers have the
option of playing any creature they can imagine,
especially under the current edition of the rule-set,
and can do battle with, or romance an equally
diverse crew.
The races in this sourcebook are built
around a two interlaced themes: beauty and strangeness.
Inspired by fairy tales and classic mythology,
many of these races are also stereotypically ‘feminine’.
Pixies, merfolk, centaurs and half-human
beings of all kind, these glamorous new races have
unique powers, unique cultures and truly unique
personalities. These exotic characters were chosen
to represent the most common archetypes of nonhumanoid
beauty found in gaming.
And they are all beautiful, even if their
beauty is something completely outside human
experience.
