'Traipse' OpenRPG

Ornery Orc {100505-00}

Traipse is a distribution of OpenRPG that is designed to be easy to setup and go. Traipse also makes it easy for developers to work on code without fear of sacrifice. 'Ornery-Orc' continues the trend of 'Grumpy' and adds fixes to the code. 'Ornery-Orc''s main goal is to offer more advanced features and enhance the productivity of the user.

Traipse OpenRPG is OpenRPG, so if you download and run Traipse you can connect to any server that uses OpenRPG play with your friends even if they are using a different distribution.

Traipse is 100% free software licensed by the General Public License v2.0. You do not need to purchase Traipse ever. You are free to modify Traipse and distribute the modified version, even sell it according the GPL guidelines.

Purchasing Traipse helps support the active development of the software. If you like the software please purchase a copy.

What makes Traipse special to other versions?

  • Traipse OpenRPG has been debugged and is far more stable than other versions of OpenRPG. A summary of bugs that have been fixed include, but not limited too:

    • Linux users can copy and paste from the Chat window

    • The Alias Lib works on all ends

    • CherryPy has been highly debugged and works on all ends, allowing users to set their own port

    • Font Settings are correctly changed after they are set

    • The Settings Menu is more reactive; changes take place after you set them

  • Traipse Ornery Orc {100203-01} introducesa new game tree power with context sensitive node references, auto calculating grids, and the new EZ Tree Referencing system.

  • Traipse Ornery Orc {100505-00} brings back Namespace with more power. Namespace 2.0 now operates more like a lightning bolt, allowing you to create references made of points of reference inside the Game Tree.
  • Traipse introduced the Crash Report, which has been ported to Core OpenRPG. The Crash Report will create a .TXT file whenever your software breaks allowing Windows users a more stable look at the error.

  • Traipse intruduces a new TrueDebug class that makes it easy for developers to cure source code calamities.

  • The Traipse Die Roller now supports dice that uses pictures instead of numbers, with word representation.

  • Traipse includes an in house Debug Console. This console allows Windows to copy and paste errors unlike the normal DOS console.

  • Traipse servers are extremely easy to setup and the Server GUI has enhanced features that users will not find in other distros.

    • By simply editing the server_ini.xml file users can set their server's name, lobby name, password, and port. The option to choose a port for a server allows users to run multiple servers simultaneously.

    • Server Admins can Ban or modify the Ban List from the Server GUI.

  • Traipse has an advanced Update Manager that allows users to easily switch from the various Distributions available on Mercurial (even Core), switch from the different Branches available, switch from the different revisions, and even find other distributions and download that source.

  • Traipse Ornery Orc {100505-00} introduces Multiple Meta Server support. You can now update from and register too multiple Meta Servers. (Please see the Known Issue for this build:

  • Traipse is ready to fork.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
