Gruff men stand around trash-can bonfires to keep warm, drinking homemade liquor made from anything that will grow. Some skinny dead thing roasts on a spit. Glass breaks, someone shouts, a fight breaks out in the distance. Gas is long gone, and most cars have been torn apart to create make-shift shelters. Stray animals scavenge for food. Children learn to use weapons. This is a world ruled by anarchy, violence and fear.
