Description:

Does the idea of running through the woods while being chased by a maniac in a hockey mask sound like fun to you? Or how about having your dreams invaded by a vile, demonic entity looking to slash you limb from limb? How about trying to survive a night of babysitting while an eerie white-masked individual is after you?

Okay, so perhaps these don't sound that appealing in real life, but they're a blast when they happen in a role-playing game. That's what Slasher Flick is all about!

Slasher Flick: the Director's Cut is more than just a cute play on words... it's a deluxe version of the Slasher Flick core rulebook. Everything you could ever need is found in this product.

·        Full color interior pages

·        Full-sized 8.5" by 11" book (as opposed to the digest-sized original).

·        All-new cover

·        Never-before-seen material designed to improve the game and make it more user-friendly.

·        Material culled from the various supplements, including 100 character templates, additional special rules for characters, group archetypes and much more.

·        Three "quick flicks" that allow you to get a game up and running in no time.

 ·        A spine-tingling 23-page introductory adventure called, "The Vault".

For this game, players take the role of protagonists in a slasher flick. Each character has four stats, rated Poor, Normal, and Good. These stats are: Brawn: Strength and toughness. Finesse: Agility, coordination, speed, and reflexes. Brains: [...]

I will admit it, I am a big fan of Spectrum Games. I think they are one of best at genre emulation, really getting down to the essence of what makes the experience and trying to encapsulate that into a game. As examples I will point to the reviews I [...]

Pros: Slasher Flick brought to full color. with tons of new bonus features including 100 pregens and a full "film". Cons: No bookmarks, less than impressive table of contents and index. Check out my review at: http://mostunreadblogever.blogspot.com/ [...]

Slasher Flick is a rules-light roleplaying game meant to emulate this horror film subgenre. The Director’s Cut is a nicely formatted version of the original rulebook, with some bonus material. The rulebook is 170 pages and a pretty quick read, with [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
