Whether you play Murphy's World or not, if you want to make documents that appear as if they were hand-written but still easy to read, MurphyHand is just the ticket!
MurphyHand is a typeface that was created to serve as the hand-written notes made by the character Sean Murphy, featured in the humorous techno-fantasy roleplay games Murphy's World and Bob, Lord of Evil. The style of the letterforms is intended to represent a rough and swiftly written but easily understood handwriting.
MurphyHand includes UPPERCASE, lowercase, and a second set of alternative lowercase characters to permit a wide variation in the letters that comprise a word.
To achieve a truly non-uniform and varied look to headlines and short passages of text, you can experiment with the optional characters, altering the size and baseline of letters, and reducing specific caps to be used as occasional lowercase letters.
There are numerous kerning pairs included in MurphyHand to enhance its appearance when typesetting words and paragraphs; as with any typeface, however, individual letter kerning is recommended for best effect.
MurphyHand typeface is provided in 3 versions: TrueType PC (Windows), TrueType Mac, and Type 1 Mac.
Also included is a PDF booklet that provides a handy Character Chart showing each letter built into the typeface and a grid reference to the keys you press to access it. Plus, a document on how to access the alternate (special) characters is included, with a focus on PC users and Windows Character Map utility and Microsoft Office Insert Symbol window.
