Imagine pulling a stool up to the bar and sipping a frosty pint of our favorite beverage as you listen in on the conversations of the "regulars" that frequent the neighborhood tavern. But, this establishment is unlike any other bar. The Hideout Bar & Grill caters to the super heroes of First City. And, this is watering hole serves as more than just a place to wash away a rough day of protecting and serving society as crime-fighting crusaders. For these "regular heroes" it is "a place where everyone knows your name," secret identity or not.

The Hideout Regulars are an eclectic group of characters that showcase familiar super hero archetypes in unique and humorous fashion. From the overzealous vigilante to the dysfunctional mentor/sidekick duo to the new super in town still trying to figure out a cool "hero handle" -- they're all here.

Hero Happy Hour: The Hideout Regulars is the first ICONS supplement based on the fan-favorite super hero comic book and webcomic Hero Happy Hour. This product features write-ups on ten of the main characters from Hero Happy Hour, as well as "Adventure Shots" to provide inspiration for your own Hideout Bar & Grill based adventures. A Hideout Bar & Grill can be dropped into any ICONS game to provide a starting point for great super heroic gameplay.

This add-on is the perfect accessory for your ICONS: Superpowered Rolepaying, or any other super hero roleplaying game that the gang from The Hideout Bar & Grill might show up in. You get ten individual standees -- featuring art from Hero Happy Hour co-creator Chris Fason -- that are easy to construct. Just download the pdf, print out on card-stock or cover-stock, cut along the solid lines, fold along the dotted lines, and you're all set.

I have been a fan of the Hero Happy Hour comic for many years now, so having stats for the characters is a real treat. Icons is a perfect fit for the style and tone of the comic. But that does not mean they should not consider stat packs for other super r [...]

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
