This file was last updated in 2012 _ does that mean the updates are also included in the print version? I'm not familiar with how DriveThruRPG manages their pdf/print files — I am trying to make sure there is a 1:1 correlation between PDF and print editions.

Hi! I have two questions on Rolemaster Classic:
1.) Is Stat Generation still be done with a die roll or is there now a point based generation system included?
2.) Combat: Is there some "official" suggestion how to handle "aiming for a certain hit location" ("I try to hit his left leg!")
In HARP there is an optional rule for it.
[Note: Sure, house ruling can do it all. But i want to know, if they implemented these things in the classic version]
Thanks!

I have purchased all four Rolemaster Classic books in softcover.

I would like to add the Gamemaster Screen [ICE#6507] for Rolemaster Classic, will this be available in print format soon?

why is it so expensive considering you need like 4 books to complete the game, its freakin' unreal!?

The Dungeon Master's Guide for 5E costs 49.95 for the book.
The Player's Handbook for 5E costs 49.95 for the book.
The Monster Manual for 5E costs 49.95 for the book.
That's 150.00 for the core books for D&D without any PDF.

If you purchase all four books for Rolemaster Classic with both the softcover book AND the pdf, you're still paying less than the three books for Dungeons and Dragons 5E.

What, exactly, is your complaint?

Evan B is correct. Those are the retail prices for the 5e books. If you compare retail to retail, RMC is a better deal. You got a great deal, sure, because WotC is a much bigger publisher than ICE and can afford to print and ship thousands of copies to [insert online retailer here] at a lower price than retail for a smaller margin per book but better overall profit. Then, [insert online retailer here] passes that discount on to you so they can dump their now massive inventory of 5e books. To be honest, I bought 3 or the 4 RMC books elsewhere years back for $30. So I got an even a better deal! :)

However, price isn't always the bottom line. For some folks, sure. That's why places like Dollar Tree, Walmart, and McDonalds stay in business. Sometimes, though, people prefer quality over quantity. And while I know this is purely an opinion, I think that RMC is a vastly superior game to 5e.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
