Description:

Behold the strange and terrible world of Foree!

Awful and nonsensical are the rules of this inhospitable world, where Wizards alone reserve the right to utter the names of certain monsters. But we have dared to mention here one of these fell creatures, the Brainlasher, and to present its fearful likenesses for your consideration.

Using their alien technology, psionic abilities, and mind-shattering abilities, the Brainlashers are among the most loathsome and formidable of monsters. While they have long inhabited the known worlds, the Brainlashers have been used to populate the world of Foree with no acknowledgement of this. They are, in fact, the brainchildren of H.P. Lovecraft, Brian Lumley, and the other luminaries of the Mythos and those inspired by it.

This set of 12 full-color paper miniatures is designed to be compatible with other 25/30mm figures and contains nine different creatures - three of them size Large - and four equipment counters. All can be printed out and assembled as many times as desired.

Miniatures in this set include:

* A Brainlasher Psionicist.

* A Brainlasher Fighter.

* A Brainlasher Rogue/Assassin.

* A Brainlasher Wizard/Sorcerer.

* A Large Brain Golem.

* A Large Master Brain.

* A Large Neo Warbeast.

Forbidden Monsters of Foree: Brainlashers is part of Skirmisher's Cardstock CharactersTM line of figures that can be downloaded, printed out, and used in a variety of different sorts of games. It is the second in the "Forbidden Monsters of Foree" line of miniatures, the first being Wan-Ti Snakemen. Other currently-available sets include ones for use with Mutant Future and other post-apocalyptic and science-fiction games; anthropomorphic ducks and pigs inspired by the Quactica wargaming rules; and the MILFs series of sexed-up monsters that you would just love to be able to roll d20 to hit!

Variant and bonus miniatures tying in with this line also appear in each volume of the d-Infinity multi-platform game supplement.

We hope you enjoy both these Brainlashers and Skirmisher's other Cardstock CharactersTM!

Inspired by the works of classic swords-and-sorcery authors like Fritz Lieber, Jack Vance, and Robert E. Howard, Swords of Kos: Hekaton is the second entry in Skirmisher Publishing LLC’s fantasy fiction series and follows Swords of Kos: Necropolis. In this anthology, the island and city of Kos and the lands around it are explored through the stories of eleven authors and original illustrations and cartography by nine artists. All are set during the Hekaton, centennial observance of the great volcanic cataclysm that reawakened magic, the elder races, and all manner of fell monsters, in a fantasy world that draws upon the myths, legends, and history of the Mediterranean, Europe, and the Middle East.

Stories in this compilation include “Bloodsuckers” by Michael O. Varhola, “Rogue’s Nightmare” by R.M. Aislin, “Chasing Shadows” by Richard T. Balsley, “The Misadventures of Bjoric” by Brendan Cass, “The Rite” by Christopher Van Deelen, “To the Dragon Apeiron” by Lissanne Lake, “Unfamiliar Ground” by Sharon Daugherty, “The Day Pateon Fnordseeker Gave Up Drinking” by Eric Lis, M.D., “Nithernons the Ale’er” by John Giddens, and “The Price of Land” by D.M. Fitzgerald. Join us in our adventures through the dark and fascinating swords-and-sorcery world of Kos!

An interesting small set of paper miniatures from Skirmisher, which might be imagined as "purple people-eaters", since they're all purple-skinned and you probably wouldn't want to get too close to any! There are seven figures, four "normal"-sized humanoid [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
