Steve Costigan and Mike are back in the ring for the second round!
Legendary pulp ficton writer Robert E. Howard (1906 - 1936) created dozens of memorable characters during his too-short lifetime. The one he wrote the most about, however, was not Conan or Solomon Kane, but the big-hearted sailor Steve Costigan, whose pride in his skills as a boxer got him in almost as much trouble as his loyaty to his shipmates and whilte bulldog Mike, and his love of beautiful women.
Shanghaid Mitts: More Tales of Sea-faring Boxing Champ Steve Costigan features 11 stories full of comedy, adventure, and boxing as Sailor Costigan battles all comers--boxers, thieves, con artists, Mexican bandits, Chinese warlords--from the back alleys of Singapore to the wild hills of Texas. These are the remaining tales of Costigan that wre published during Howard's lifetime (with the first ten found in the companion volume Fists of Foolishness), and they are written in a very different style than Howard used in his more famous fantasy and horror stories. Some of his best work can be found within these pages, with stories like "Shanghaied Mitts" in particular making one wonder to what heights his talents might have taken him if he had lived longer.
Also featured is a roleplaying game adventure that can be played solo, or with friends by using the game included in Fists of Foolishness ("The Violent Worlds of Robert E. Howard") or ROLF!: The Rollplaying Game of Big Dumb Fighters, together with the "Hammerin' Tongs" supplement.
Don't miss Fists of Foolishess, the first collection of Steve Costigan adventures!
Featuring ten classic stories by Robert E. Howard,
and a complete RPG by Steve Miller and L.L. Hundal.
