Otherverse America Campaign Setting

Otherverse America Campaign Setting

Otherverse America

“The Second American Civil War began just after 10 am CST on January 22, 2061. A historic, highly controversial abortion clinic on Ogalada Sioux reservation land was wiped off the map, and it’s RAINBOW Liberty defenders were slaughtered by a post-human terrorist codenamed Life Tank.”
-wikipedia.mesh, circa 2107

A Soldier’s Book of Shadows
“Each woman must be free to make her own choice; no man may safely decide for her; she must give life gladly to be able to give it well.”
-C. Gasquoine Hartley, The Truth About Women (1913)

Closed: The Manual of Pro-Life Tactical Doctrine
“Outside the comfort zone, the spirit of murder grew, unchecked by those called to establish the law of God.”

-Neal Horsley, circa 2000

It’s the year 2107, less than two decades after the Treaty of Boston brought 30 years of savage sectarian violence and civil war to a close. America struggles to rise from the ashes of the Abortion War, while the rival Lifer and Choicer factions build their own unique cultures from what’s left. The differences between pro-life and pro-choice, between liberal and conservative, between Christian and Pagan, have been sharpened to a killing edge.

Otherverse America is the core sourcebook for the Otherverse America campaign setting, and is divided into multiple sections with each describing a specific faction; their goals, tactics, gear, heroes and villains. This sourcebook describes Otherverse America as a military sci-fi setting, and provides a battle-field look at the setting’s history and soldier’s eye view of its core conflicts. Other sections provide an in-depth look at civilian life in the Otherverse, daily life within the Lifer or Choicer military, and provides suggestion for building powerful, post-human soldiers.

This 320 page sourcebook includes:

· More than a dozen new starting occupations including the Spider-farm Hobbyist,   the Coven-guard, Neo-Witch Midwife, Closer and Vindicator Advanced Classes,    as well as a new 10 level Powered Hero Basic Class.

· New Player Species unique to Otherverse America.

· Complete rules for genetic engineering, including civilian non-combat genetic engineering!

· Object Philosophies: A new type of mental weapon that can transform ordinary men and women into super-humans thanks to will power alone.

In Otherverse America, Chris A. Field describes a future where the culture wars have exploded into civil war, followed by tense cold war; meanwhile psionics, biotechnology, and cybertechnology have developed. Otherverse America doesn’t explain [...]

First off does the author know what editing and formating are? Because the "book" seems to show a complete lack of both. Secondly I had no idea it was even humanly possible to be this laughably ham fisted about a political message, farms ar [...]

In a quick word on what's wrong with this product.... this setting is beyond ridiculous. The political strawmen that makes up the setting is so far out there that it's not even funny. But the premise that Pagans and Pro-Choicers are the good guys, whil [...]

It feels bad rating something free so lowly but honestly... I guess I should start from the beginning. Otherverse America is a near-future cyberpunk campaign setting designed by Skortched Urf' Studios. It's the near-future and the Abortion Wars [...]

Weird, very weird, perhaps the weirdest game setting I've ever encountered, and I've played Noumenon. Humans reincarnated as psychic bugs trapped in an interdimensional prison seems somehow tame compared to Otherverse America. It just comes at [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
