When is this game set?

I am looking for a cold war era, ideally 1960s, spy game. I want to do Man From UNCLE, Mission Impossible, The Avengers, and Sean Connery as James Bond stuff. Unfortunately all of the spy genre games I read about seem to be modern.

Unfortunately idue to technical problems right now i can only watch and read your video and Kickstarter Site, but not hear your explanations ... so i really don't get it: Is your system percentile based or not?
The character shown on Kickstarter seems to show a percentile based system, but the text and your video says something else? I'm really confused.
Besides that, the blurb here on drivethrurpg looks pretty bored.
I'm interested, but a little bit irritated.

The kickstarter when launched we discovered that the percentile system was too much like another Spy game out that was already using a percentile system. This urged us to create something else and thankfully we felt we created something better. In all the test groups we ran, the players seemed to like the new system better. Attached on this page and at our website are some basics of the game. Hopefully this helps. Thanks for the input, we do appreciate it. http://www.thepolyhedralknights.com/

I love buying modern based espionage/spy games but I'm not prepared to shell out $9.99 for a 120 page pdf without knowing more about the product. It would be nice to see a quickstart made available to help potential buyers understand more about the mechanics etc. As it is the blurb tells you nothing about the game that distinguishes it from any other spy based game. The cover art looks good but that's about all I can say at this time. Perhaps getting someone to review it might help. With great games like Covert Ops available for the same price I'll hang on for someone else to be the guinea pig.

Thank you for your comment. I can understand your hesitation about buying anything with a sea of other product out there. The spy genre is not exactly original. We are currently working on a series of video diaries that will break down the rules for anyone who wishes to watch it. What we believe makes our game unique is the skill system. It breaks down a skill in two categories. Level of Education in it and actual practical usage of the skill. Our post on drivethru is really recent so I'm certain some one will be posting a review or two soon. Thanks again for taking enough of an interest to ask these questions.

Well, it's now September and I don't see anything new about this game :( I was kind of expecting to see something more by now. Oh well - guess I'll put my money elsewhere.

Sorry about such a long delay. My life has been a bit crazy. We did attach a video on this page and have other videos on our web page as Keith M was kind enough to post I noticed. Hopefully the video will answer your questions on the game mechanics. Thanks again for your input. It is valued.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
