Say Goodbye to Ranger Prestige Classes Forever!

Are you tired of every Ranger having Track and spell abilities? Do you wish you could drop the Ranger's Combat Style ability for something else? Perhaps Favored Terrain or a Bonded Companion is more to your wilderness tastes?

The Sentinel is a new core class for fantasy d20 games that uses an innovative progression system, similar to the d20 modern talent tree system. This advancement system allows for ultimate customization of your character beginning at 1st level. With 79 unique special abilities and a list of another 54 feats that can serve as special abilities, you will wonder how you ever played d20 without a system like this. Choose from 133 different feats and abilities like Advanced Favored Enemy, Detect Enemy, Ear to the Ground, Aura of Protection, Speak with Stone, Environmental Attack, Lay Hands, Mastery of Surprise, Inspire Bloodlust, and many others to create the wilderness champion of your dreams. With this supplement you can create a traditional ranger, you can switch out a few of his abilities, or you can even switch all his special abilities out for others. Become a master of beasts with abilities like Beast Trainer, and Vermin Handler. Use your Charisma to protect yourself and empower your allies with abilities like Aura of Courage, and Inspire Rage. Become closer to nature and improve your hunting skills with the Favored Terrain, Survivalist Guide, and Hunter-Gather abilities. These and more than 100 other innovative and well balanced special abilities are available in this supplement to help you craft any ranger concept you might have without ever taking a prestige class again!

Start Customizing Your Ranger at 1st Level With the Sentinel!

A printable version of these rules is also included in the download. The printable version has no artwork or fancy layout design. The Sentinel is one of the core classes for the Primal Legends campaign setting, combining elements of the Ranger and Paladin with mechanics that support Primal Legends' fundamental division between 'clean' and 'unclean' creatures and magic. Fro [...]

Dragon magazine did a Sentinel core class (a neutral good paladin variant) shortly after 3.5 hit the stores. I thought it was a neat paladin/ranger hybrid, until I picked up PRimal Heroes: The Sentinel. This is essentially a good-aligned wilder [...]

An interesting mixture of the paladin and ranger, this book allows the creation of fairly unique PCs. Like the others in the series, it gives a class table that indicates how many special abilities are gained by the class. It is up to the player to sel [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
