Very high quality map like everything you would expect from Columbia Games. This is a great addition to the Cherafir setting, especially as this is all that many characters may see of the kingdom of mystery.

Love the articles. I would really love it even more if I had the option to include or exclude related products and still benefit from bundle pricing. For instance, I ended up buying the bundle package even though I already owned several of the articles included, simply because the bundle rate was cheaper than me buying the article I did not already own separately. I would have loved to be able to buy the articles I needed at a bundle rate without duplicating already owned materials. Many Harniacs own a lot of items they have bought over the years, and a pre-set bundle defined by anybody other than the buyer is somewhat less useful to us folks who own a lot of Harn material already. Rewarding my decision to buy 6 Harn products should be a function of the number of products I am buying, not a pre-selected batch of material made up by the seller. I would loved to have been able to include other products into the bundle, rather than having to buy duplicate copies of article I already owned to get the discounted price.

This is a fascinating, beautifully-presented and well-described mining settlement on the very fringes of civilisation, so far away from the centre of affairs that those who mine here are left to their own devices... devices, sad to say, that include many corrupt practices and abuses.
The mining concession is in the hands of the Order of the Red Shadows of Herpa, a religious knightly order which oversees the mining of several valuable ores and the general operation of the settlement, defending their holdings against bandits and orc raids alike. The fertility of the land is poor so extra food must be bought in to feed the community, which as well as the knights includes craftsmen, professional miners and, sad to say, slave labour.
The entire operation is described clearly and in detail, which really brings it to life as a flourishing community. The GM is provided with a detailed map and notes on everything there and, as usual with Columbia Games product, these notes are besprinkled liberally with snippets of information that can inspire events if not whole adventures as you read through them.
The amount of detail is stupendous, everything from mine operations to details on just about everyone you might encounter if you visited the area. Should you dare: strangers are not welcome and viewed with hostility... and if you have useful skills you might find yourself joining the community without the option! The level of detail extends to outline floorplans of every building in the settlement which includes a thriving bawdy house - the miners and soldiers have few comforts, poor dears, so trade in ale and, ahem, other services is brisk.
Several discrete adventure hooks are provided, as well as the snippets you'll find throughout the descriptive text. The first is a way to get the party to the mine, the second involves the mine complex coming under attack, and the last offers an opportunity for the party to thwart or join an escape attempt - as even those not actually in bondage as slaves are rarely allowed to leave by the Order that controls the settlement, escape is a dream shared by many if rarely attempted.
All in all, it's a beautifully-developed settlement that oozes realism. You feel that it is lurking out there somewhere... and should you decide to visit, well, here is everything that you need.

For an overview of the heart of eastern Harn you have it here. A solid history of Kaldor is here. The basics for the succession crisis are laid out for the GM. It gives seeds for the foundation shaking adventures that will determine the next king, or one can keep the heroes in the same location and still have great adventures. While area modules will give more in-depth information to GMs and players, this module tells people how they interact as one nation.
The scan quality is very good. The artwork is of good caliber. The maps & heraldry are great.

The background to this frontier fort and small town, held by an order of the Lady of Paladins, links it with several other products in the line, besides its own secrets to be found.

This presents a group of specialist diviners, priests of the god of flame and violence, with much interesting detail within their history, magical practices, worldview, relations to others (notably, certain wizards) and the hierarchy of beings that are vital to their rituals.

Très bonne carte, qualité de zoom incroyable? Alors pourquoi seulement 4 plusieurs raisons:

A great article for Harnworld, reprinted from a classic 1992 sourcebook. Households presents a system of management for the households of player characters - residents, household skills, working conditions, budgeting, standard of living, and much more. It adds a level of detail and complexity to the RPG that may only appeal to a few players - mostly those who get enjoyment out of managing details.
While specifically written for Harn, the rules in this booklet could be used for expanding rules for other fantasy RPGs as well.

A great piece of Harnworld lore, reprinted from a classic 1984 module, on the heraldry of Harn. Many examples of designs are given, with descriptions of their use and significance.
While specifically written for Harn, the lore in this booklet could be used for inspiration for other fantasy RPGs, or as a general source for medieval heraldry.

A grisly piece of Harnworld lore, reprinted from a classic 1987 module, regarding a bimonthly gladitorial combat event, the Pamesani Games. While specifically written for Harn, the lore in this booklet could be used for inspiration for other fantasy RPGs.

Overpriced
I'm perfectly happy to pay a couple of quid for some quickstart rules, which are included in this product. The trouble is this 'field of daisies' adventure could better be titled 'basic dungeon crawl'. There is a lot of detail on the local village, but the only information to be gained there by the characters is a fairly obvious 'go adventure in this location' sign post.
This should be called Quickstart rules and sample encounter... but would anyone buy it if it were?

The article does not provide any new information that hasn't already been printed elsewhere. The only thing new was some artwork. Given that this is a PDF file, at $4.99 I feel it is overpriced. At that price I expected some new material and at least an index with hyperlinks. On the plus side, the new artwork was nice.
So artwork gets 4 stars
Writing gets 3 stars (the quality of writing rates higher but the lack of new material and lack of any sort of indexing pulled it down in my opinion)
Price gets 2 stars
Overall I gave it 3 stars, average but not noteworthy
