Ravenlands 1 Freebie: Winter Cottage
by Brandon W. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 05/26/2011 03:06:58

I love all the scrying eye maps and they just keep getting better! They can be used for any genre and any setting. As a game master you can carry them around in your pack and be ready for any situation your players might encounter and you can do so at a great price. Good job guys!

The Ravenlands Bundle 2: Inn and Mine (1" square = 5')
by Nathan R. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 04/08/2011 22:21:33

This set of maps details a mine and near-by inn, in 1" maps. I was really impressed with this set of maps. There is a great level of detail, and you are able to see individual leaves on trees and tools on worktables. You get both exterior and interior maps. You also get single page maps so you can see the whole location at a glance, which is really handy. Instructions, like all of Scrying Eye's map products, are straightforward and clear. If you are in need of a generic mine and/or tavern, with detailed maps that really help to evoke a sense of place, you would be hard pressed to find a better set than this.

Tall Ships 4: Explorer's Ship
by Nathan R. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 04/08/2011 22:10:25

Another in the line of Scrying Eye Games' "Tall Ships". This time round we have six pages that form the map of the top deck of a sailing ship, and a seventh page of open water. The deck is cluttered with barrels and crates, and has a number of cannons and swivel guns. The art is once again very nice, and the sails are transparent so you can see/use the deck below them. There are no plans for below deck, and I would have liked a single page map of the ship to use as a GM reference or for when I don't want to use miniatures. Overall, a good resource for your nautical adventures.

Tall Ships 1: Pirate Ship
by Nathan R. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 04/08/2011 22:04:07

This is exactly what it says on the packet - a set of maps (in 1" squares) for a pirate ship. There are six pages that make up the map of the ship, and a seventh page of water. The art is good and the sails have a transparent quality that allows you to see/use the deck below them. It is only of the top deck, nothing of below deck. The instructions are clear and straightforward. I would have liked a one-page map of the ship, too, either to use as GM's reference, or for those occasions when I don't want to crack out the miniatures.

INN-Teriors 1: The Raven Claw Inn
by Cedric C. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 03/14/2011 21:03:16

When I purchased some maps and tile sets from the publishers of The World's Most Popular Roleplaying Game, I was sorta disappointed by the size of the inns. The quality and color was great, but some adventures just call for large, two-story inns with a basement. The Raven Claw Inn is a two-story inn, each story two pages across, and a half-page basement. The kitchen is in the basement, and upstairs has several shared bedrooms, including a dorm, though not a flophouse-style common area. Additional roofs have been included. You won't be able to make a 3-D model with just the roofs, but you can certainly use them as terrain for MageKnight or outdoor fantasy battles. Remember to download "Ravenlands 1 Freebie: Castle Raven Dungeon Level 1" if you haven't done so already. It's by the same creator and just as good.

Ravenlands 2 Freebie: Castle Raven Dungeon Level 1
by Cedric C. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 03/14/2011 20:06:59

This freebie is fantastic! Almost 2x4 printed pages of underground goodness! And, despite the generic-ish title, this map works just fine for any deserted castle or mansion basement, even suitable for a Call of Cthulhu game. The layout is less random sprawling dungeon, than a deserted floor of bedrooms and common areas. The map is suitable from anything from a random dungeon, to an orc barracks lair, to a decades-abandoned basement where forgotten secrets and horrible things dwell. The map also has plenty of detail, so is quite suited for exploration as well. Very good job!

INN-Teriors 2: The Staghorn Inn
by Mark C. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/13/2011 21:27:27

This product is really impressive. The plans for the inn are absolutely complete with a basement, 1st floor, 2nd Floor, and roof. The art work is so nice that you could hang it on your walls. For the price, this set of inn floor plans is a very good bargain. If you run a miniatures based fantasy game, that uses a tavern or needs a tavern for a location, then look no further than this.

Ravenlands 1 Freebie: Winter Cottage
by Mark C. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/04/2011 01:36:11

When I saw this cabin in the snowy woods, available for free I decided to download it just to check it out. Once I saw the detail on the pages, I had to print it out. I believe that I am going to use it to make an expansion board for Zombie Plague. I have a scenario in mind already. Anyway, after I had printed it out, trimmed it up and put it together, some friends came by and saw it. All of them thought it was really nice. Further comments:

"What is that long building?" "Shed? Chicken Coop?" "A Drying Barn" "Meth Lab. Hidden away in the woods" "I was thinking a vivasectionist's abbatoir"

It was at that point that I realized this cabin could be used in any setting. I don't know what The Ravenlands are. I don't play fantasy RPG's any more, but I recognize something cool when I see it. Did I mention that it was FREE? What are you waiting for? Download it now and check it out!

Small Ships 1: Launches and Rafts
by Mark C. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/04/2011 01:13:26

I believe this collection of rafts, small boats and sloops to be a phenomenal value. I mean, HELLO, this product is FREE. In this case, FREE does not mean that the product is damaged or in some way bad. The art is beautiful. FREE is GOOD all by itself. But when you add the value of something FREE to the value of something both nice looking and completely functional, then FREE is MOST EXCELLENT! That is what Small Ships 1: Launches and Rafts is. MOST EXCELLENT!

I found these boats when I was looking for something to pimp out the game Dead Man's Island and I really can't over that they are free. Download them and check them out now, why not?

by Billiam B. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 02/20/2011 09:40:26

Good quality computer art, well balanced colours, lots of details. A generic rustic inn suitable for many settings. The set includes a roof as well as well as the two floors plus a small basement (to connect to a large underground map, perhaps ...) The overview maps are an added professional touch. A quality bargain! Bb http://bit.ly/rpgblog

Art Pack 1: Fruit and Veggies for Dundjinni, Fractal Mapper, and CC3
by Ralf S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/05/2011 04:46:52

A large selection of nicely drawn pieces of fruit and veggie bitmaps. The focus is pretty specific, but contains everything you might need within that range.

The bitmaps are very small and can't be blown up very far, but that's because they are created to match floorplan resolution maps without any adjustment from the user. For CC3 (which is freely scaleable), I'd have preferred a higher resolution, but I can see the advantage of not having to rescale anything in other software packages.

You certainly get your money's worth in healthy food with this one. ;)

Art Pack 2: Bottles and Jars for Dundjinni, Fractal Mapper or CC3
by Aaron H. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/04/2011 13:38:58

Bottles and Jars is a battlemap software art pack designed to add detail and character during battlemap creation (with various program packages). It presents the use of many different types of bottles and jars with numerous colors, material, size, shape and position. Each one is given as individual .png files for easy and variable use.

The sheer number of options makes this a worthy art pack to get. There are 13 material choices and a variety of color choices (depending upon the material). With each one being an individual .png file, they should be very easy to add to your battlemap. The colors look great and the options are vast. Just look at the demo image to get an idea for what you can do.

This is a great art pack for those looking to add any type of bottle or jar to a battlemap (during creation). The colors and material are believable and the options for standing or tipped add great value. Art packs are a great way to add the fiddly bits of detail to a great looking battlemap, and this one will make any magical shop or room look fantastic!

Tall Ships 1: Pirate Ship
by Joe K. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 01/22/2011 20:55:49

In games that benefit from miniatures and maps, such as Pathfinder and Dungeons and Dragons 4e, one of the potential problems a Game Master might run into, is having the right map at the right time. While I'm a big fan of models, especially miniatures such as Reaper, the ones I've seen for ships are generally of such high cost that the price is worthwhile only for those with excessive funds.

Enter Tall Ships 1: Pirate Ship.

This is a full color PDF and while the instructions are brief, they are entertaining. The tiles are full color, color saturated even. When the writers suggest having these printed at a copy store, it's not a bad suggestion if you can do so for 50 cents a sheet. If not, fire up the laser printer because of the amount of color here, it's going be a big one.

In addition to the ship itself, there is a bonus tile of the water. This is useful because while its nice to have the ship, it's nice to have extra pages of water around the ship so that you can properly place the monsters. Very handy in situations where multiple sides of the ship are being attacked by sea devils, sea trolls, or your other favorite monster.

At $1.99, Tall Ships 1 is worth looking at just to see if you like the art style and layout for very little financial risk.
