Fantastic gaming aid for generating NPCs, particularly Ordinaries. Great product overall. A must-have for d20 Modern GMs and a useful tool for d20 Modern publishers.

LIKED: User-friendly interface---the NPC stats are displayed at the top of page as you create them and they're already in standardized form, so you can cut and paste them with no hassle.

DISLIKED: Point builds being given as totals--I like to "see my work" especially with skills (+1 ranks, +2 Dex, +2 Nimble = Total +5). Not really a problem with NPCs, but if I were to make a PC, it's information I'd want (of course, this is an NPC generator. . .). Also, the skill generator can be aggravating, especially when building higher level characters. If you make a mistake and put in too many points a "FAILED" error comes up, and you have to start all over again. It could use a counter that subtracts the points as you place them. As is, just make sure to attempt a save every 10 points or so.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Thanks for the feedback. I do plan to do a new UI for this tool and it will break down the totals. |

So-so. Lots of complexity, but the rules do not fit together all that well. I had a nard time figuring this product out. I really can't recommend it.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
I've used the 'rank' system in my conspiracy game... and its add a whole new level of thinking to the group. There are several great ideas to use in this one. Much worth it!

This is a must have reference for anyone that is not satisfied with the martial artist class in d20 Modern. It provides good solid rules and structure that will allow players to customize their characters to unique styles and stay within the game balance.

LIKED: The rules structure and flexibility of this product are very solid and are balanced. The feats allow a character to "dabble" in the martial arts without having a life commitment to them. ("I picked up a few things here and there..")

DISLIKED: I believe the author was misinformed when he wrote the some of the style write-ups (i.e. Wing Chun)

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
This mass combat system is ideal for covering modern warfare. It's easy to learn the rules, and the info on various American military units is a nice touch(to say nothing of the related Prestige Classes). That said, perhaps some love should in future be shown towards America's closest allies, Canada and Great Britain(even if only in the form of a single prestige class for each country, and some info on more notable equipment that these countries do not share with the United States). Overall though, very helpful, and it's well worth your money.

Excellent amount of information for the money. Anyone running a futuristic campaign needs a copy of this book!

Just excellent figures! I will definitely buy more sets. I hope they make more!

LIKED: The artwork is detailed, but clear. The colors are appropriate for each figure, textured and shaded. Even the design is such that they can be made as 2 or 3-sided standups.

DISLIKED: I thought the price was a bit high for the number of figures in the package as compared to competitors. I would change my rating from a 4 to a 5 if there were about 10 more figures in the package.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Novel starting point and interesting read. I'd like to see a followup expansion.

LIKED: Great price and packaging. Interesting concept and perhaps a good place to start a base of operations for PCs

DISLIKED: Wished it added a little more meat or background toward the end game. Would love to have seen more artwork. Park maps looked a bit uninspired and bland.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
There should have been more than 2 options to end this adventure. But I guess that is up to the GM to tailor it :-)

LIKED: Great concept. Great price.

DISLIKED: Too short. I'd like to have seen a timeline of what happened between the time of the Fall and when the soldiers woke up. Much like the history of the Foundation.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Love the Fallout references. Good artwork and packaging

I wish they included other variant scenarios to include other types of dwellers that might have emerged such as troglidytes, mutants, machines, etc.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
I originally picked this up as I have been a practitioner of Ying Jow Pai for 12 years and this is the first supplement I have seen mentioning it. I am also curious as to how martial arts are handled in various systems. D20 martial arts are quite dull so I thought this might spice it up a little. I should also say I play d20 sparingly and don?t have very many other supplements.
Overall, I was surprised by the choice of the various styles. Usually you get the stock mantis, shao lin, karate, etc. but here they have added several rarer ones like hwarang do. I also found the descriptions quite interesting.
Apparently you take a style as a feat then you get several maneuvers. This part I don?t have much of a problem with. It does however enter into the problem area that virtually all attempts to mimic a style fail. Many martial arts are quite inclusive. Putting them into a mechanic often makes them seem over balanced when compared to normal weapons. As such you either don?t get a true representation of the style or it is out of balance. For example Ying Jow does not have joint locks which is really ironic since the 108 locking techniques and eagle claw technique are what exemplify the style. There may be other examples that other artists may pick up on but that is beside the point. But overall with a little tweaking they might become more accurate.
What irritated me most about the book is that it is not stand alone. The page on rpgnow does not mention this at all. Going to the RPGObjects site it is indeed listed as a supplement. Many of the maneuvers are not described in the book and I am inferring that they are listed in the original Blood and Fists. It is also quite ambiguous as to what is a feat, how you get legendary maneuvers or simple descriptions of many of the maneuvers.
The second think I didn?t like was that it is in a landscape format. It says you can get a portrait version on the objects site but I couldn?t find it.
Overall the book showed a lot of promise but fell short due to misrepresentation.

LIKED: Different styles not seen in other products.
Background info on those styles.

DISLIKED: Not complete as it describes rules not in this product.
Landscape printing.

QUALITY: Disappointing

VALUE: Disappointed
Very good stuff. You can prepare adventures in the modern era with religious conflict following novel like the da vinci code or Club Dumas
