Steamfortress Victory: Complete Core Rules 1901
by Karl N. I. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 12/03/2013 12:14:27

I wanted to write this review primarily by wondering about the content I feel is missing from the book. Nation and world details; and equipment descriptions. Though there's a general overview of the nations attitude toward one another details of the individual nations were absent. These things I had to find by buying the players workshop separately. In the equipment chapter there where tables with names but no descriptions. Again I referenced the players workshop but found that much on the tables was missing. Were these machines from the engineers guide and world book? If they are I would much like to get my hands on those two books but they seem to have disappeared from the store. Overall I think rule wise he book is interesting but there are some sloppy editing choices. In condensing the books down to just the basics you have lost a lot of the detail that made the the workshop book good. And where can I get my hands on the Engineer Guide and World book?!?

Steamfortress Victory: The Player's Workshop
by Richard Z. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 05/13/2012 09:35:31

The premise is interesting and decently presented. The types of characters seems rather varied, providing for a good variety of backgrounds. I would have liked just a little more information on the status of both Canada and Mexico, but that certainly would not distract from game play.

The reason for the low rating is Chapter 8. The Equipment section (or catalog) is nearly illegible, with black text on a dark grey background. Unless you zoom in rather closely, it can't be read.

Should this be corrected in the future, the game would receive a much higher rating from me.

Your wish is our command....Check out the Core Mechanix book. It's a re-booted/colorized/quick-play Player's Workshop that is cheaper and it fixed most of the issues with Equipment. Thank you for your commentary, it helped us in development of the revised edition. And, if you could be so kind, please re-rate or rate the Core Mechanix... Thank you for your support!
