If You Go Into The Woods (PDF)
by Megan R. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 04/14/2012 11:42:32
A couple of simple yet creepy tales that will stick in your mind long after you have put them down.

The first - 'If You Go Into The Woods' - tells of an eight-year old boy and how he finally screws up his courage to leave the beaten path through the forest near his home... and what he finds there. Simply written, you can imagine that this is a real boy's life, the things that are significant and puzzling and important at that age. Why it all matters and what sort of things he might be afraid of, and why...

Hauntingly, although we hear what he finds in the forest, it is still a mystery. Did he ever find out what was going on? Nobody knows, or at least, we don't find out.

The second story - The Reset Button - seems at first commonplace, a man living the lonely bachelor existence of the recently-divorced, struggling to keep up with his son who is living with his ex-wife. Yet as you are drawn along, finding that loneliness of someone whose only interactions are with those he has commercial dealings with, things get stranger... But who is the stranger? Again, unanswered questions that can leave you puzzling all night!

Well worth a look, but not if you like everything cut and dried!

Let's Get Digital: How To Self-Publish, And Why You Should (ePub)

There are some gems throughout this book. I read widely on self publishing from various sources and this book is a good primer on self publishing.

It is a book on the why more than the how, though, again there are some new nuggets of information from this book that I had not read anywhere else.

At $3.99 it is worth picking up if you are thinking of self publishing.
