The Tale of Lancaster's Folly
by Andrew S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 04/10/2012 21:11:28

The Tale of Lancaster's Folly by Vince Kingston is, by all accounts, a good read. It's a nice little novella in the Urban Fantasy genre, and what I hope is the beginning of a good series.

The introduction and development of the main character Brandon is good, and left me as a reader wanting to find out more about him, his powers, his past, and most importantly, where he'll go from here.

The use of mythology in contemporary settings often leaves me a little flat, but I think Lancaster's Folly does well not to fall short of what it's trying to achieve. It's all too easy to throw things at the reader for sheer shock and amazement value with these things, and, thankfully, this story doesn't do that.

I'm not going to throw a lot of spoilers around - I'm sure at 99 cents anyone interested in it can afford to give it a read through.

The only negative I'd have would be that it probably needed one more read through to pick up a few remaining typos.

Other than that, I'm looking to seeing more from Vince Kingston in the future.
