Book of Fiends
Publisher: Green Ronin Publishing

Absolutely a first-rate product! RPG e-publishers should buy this just to note what constitutes high industry standards. First point: the product is fully bookmarked. Second point: the art and cover are of high quality...sales really are better when you make that extra investment, especially cover art. Third point: high editorial standards. I can count the flubs on one hand with a casual read through, and they are quite minor. There are also few if any technical flubs to the stats, a common probem that makes me grind my teeth. Finally (I'm running out of comment time, the writing is absolutely top notch, highly evocative, yet relatively succint; it is only as long as it needs to be to achieve the effect of representing the true vileness of the entities described.

LIKED: It also supplies a great quantity of Open Content, and provides interesting lower level challenges, as well.

DISLIKED: No complaints. A graphics-free text only version for reference printing might have been a nice addition.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Bits of the Boulevard
Publisher: Tabletop Adventures, LLC
by James G. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/21/2006 00:00:00

You want this. I have been holding out on the "bits of..." series, but I am glad I gave into curiosity. I have not yet read my bits o' darkness bundle. Every single one of these (!) has potential to deliver plot hooks or to be easily woven into adventure seeds in their own right. If (as I suspect) the Bits of Darkness is equally up to spec, you could probably randomly determine one of these and a couple of those and weave a rich unique adventure out of the lot. I rate this well worth the money.

LIKED: It delivered what it promised.

DISLIKED: Nothing, it contained what it promised.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Great fun, some critters that really are good, and some of the $$$ goes towards a library charity fund and a "buy a pony" fund for a couple young girls...what's not to like!?

LIKED: I LOVE the Largest Fish In The World Who Steals Paper (PC wizard: ok, I fill the basin for shaving DM: a fish near the size of a whale steals the toilet paper for your nics and cuts: take 3d6 Con bleeding damage PC wizard: you need to get out more...)

DISLIKED: what's not to like?

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
RPGNOW VENDOR SETUP FEE

Pretty straight forward. $40 cuts out a lot of the more casual set so it helps overall quality slightly. No individual piece of the package is worth much cost-wise, but collectively having all this information collected in one place is well worth the price of admission.

LIKED: Included all relevant information in one place in easy to digest chunks and with clear instructions and examples.

DISLIKED: I have to learn at least some basic html to fully utilize; oh well, tis overdue anyway...

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
MonkeyGod Presents: The Maze of Screaming Silence
Publisher: Highmoon Press
by James G. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 09/26/2006 00:00:00

Truly top-notch writing elevates this work. The entity (I don't do spoilers) in the maze, was, to me, lacklustre, but the maze itself is mainly a McGuffin
in any event; the setting is the real prize here. Even if you don't use the product directly, it is easily worth the price just for the read alone. I give this work an unqualified 5 stars just on that merit alone.

LIKED: The writing is absolutely superb!

DISLIKED: Nothing. The sole criticism is that hack-and-slash style purists will not really have that much to do in this scenario.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
